Greek life is like a double edged sword at UA. Just look at the Cochran scandal as proof.

Ole Miss, Bama, and UGA have the largest number though.

And I hope it stays that way!

i thought they wore suits and ties? if so and you are calling that a costume you are the one out of control. i hope you are an art major or something. it may surprise you, but the business world wears suits every day and maybe, just maybe, dressing nice is a good thing. i think so and i applaud them for it. to a great extent, you act how you dress.

After pledgeship, why dress up?

Seersucker is gay. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

no one wears a coat and tie after pledgeship, but most people that attend sec universities dress up to games. its just the way it is.

I can't speak for other schools, but only the pledges wear coats here at Auburn.

Good. Fraternities often = pussies and losers that can't get laid on their own.

Why frat at all? Are you so socially backward that you need a frat pin to get you laid?

That's probably because it has been explained a thousand times on message boards yet it goes in one ear and out the other each and every time it is explained. The entire fraternity doesn't get dressed up in suit and ties for games. The PLEDGES are REQUIRED to dress up by the actives of the fraternity. The dressing up distinguishes the pledges from the actives and makes them easier to spot. The reason you constantly see kids in suits gathering souvenir cups at the end of games and going back and forth to the concessions is because actives are having them do this. I know it sounds silly but the actives makes the pledges dress up in suits. Those dressing up in suits are NOT doing so because they want to. I suppose a pledge could tell the actives of the fraternity to f off and dress however they want to but the pledges just go along with it because it's tradition and it's not that big of a deal to begin with.
