"The results from Sporcle’s “US States Quiz” make it clear that Missouri is the most forgotten state. The quiz has been attempted by players more than 19 million times, and Missouri is the state the lowest percent of people guess correctly. Only 77.6 percent of players manage to remember it, compared to the 97.3 percent who list California or Texas. The four most-forgotten states behind Missouri are Connecticut, Minnesota, Massachusetts, and Nebraska. If you’re one of the few who remembered Missouri, try guessing the only letter that’s not in any U.S. state name."

Apologies to our friends in Missouri.

Q?

And, Missouri is the "show me" state. I guess that needs to happen more. People are forgetting.

How the hell does someone not remember Missouri? St. Louis and KC are both major cities. We've had a President of the United States from Missouri.

I could see forgetting New Hampshire or Vermont. But Missouri? There was a battleship named after it for Christ's sake.

Have you ever been to Missouri? It’s incredibly forgettable. I know from looking at the map and trips I’ve made that I myself must have driven through Missouri several times but I can’t remember any of it. It’s like getting abducted by aliens or something.

It's because there are a lot of MIS states.

AR gets called "Arizona", or abbreviated as "AK".

It isn't because the it's hard, it's because most Americans are stupid.

I would have guessed Rhode Island being the one people miss the most.

Sure, some of it is. But is it any more forgettable than Oklahoma or Kansas? What about Illinois or Indiana? As someone who drives through those monthly, I'll help you out and say no.

Two major cities and a great outdoors region. Wouldn't say blah except for the northern part.

Both your major cities are hugging the borders, desperately trying to escape the state. That says a lot about Missouri on a metaphysical level.
