Interesting. I wonder if that is before or after the AD give money to the academic side. I Texas gives a few million a year as i would imagine most schools do.

Nailed it. They would be halfway decent, so long as Mullen was the coach.

No we would dominate

Auburn spent $90 million on $92 million in revenue while Bama spent $85 million on $129 million in revenue? Clearly not apples to apples.

Duh, they spent a lot more on "Pay to Play"

Seriously, though, I see no way that Bama has a 44 million surplus. They have to spending the money that the other top tier schools are spending. The 24% increase is staggering though. National Championships and consistent winning will do that for you.

One thing that has always helped UT is Women's Basketball. They typically produce a small profit instead of taking a big loss like a lot of the programs, therefore making it one less program relying on football money.

Its a good thing, so many Bama/ Kentucky fans, showed up for the Tennessee game. NFL has had a major effect on UT. BDS had never had Orange in every section of our stadium. Bama fans don't sell their tickets. You never see any color other than Crimson in our lower sections, PERIOD. 4-7 or 13-0.

If Ole Miss would start selling Colonel Reb merchandise again, they could actually make a profit.

For Bama last year, it was $29.6 M. For LSU, it was $31 M. After winning the NC, I can imagine that number sky-rocketed for Bama.

winning a NC = $$$

That should be plenty of enough money for Alabama to buy out Jim McElwain's contract. Or pay for another mercenary coach after Saban leaves.

Wow. You never miss a chance do you?

The reporting year is through June of 2010. So wouldn't that mean that the revenue from the 2nd stadium addition isn't included yet?

If not, I think we've got a great chance to close the gap on Texas next year.
