Agreed, but they have to give at least some miminal appearance of a fair process or risk some Congressman pushing to have hearings on the NCAA's misuse of its authority. I don't think there is much risk of a pushback against the NCAA here, because public opinion, outside of Ole Miss's fan base, isn't likely to see the NCAA as abusive because the public has seen the texts and heard the admission about taking money, not to mention being aware of the violations Ole Miss has already agreed occurred. On the other hand, unless there is some reasonable explanation for the texts and Tunsil's statement, public pushback will come if the NCAA does little or nothing.

The point OM can make with the Tunsil stuff is that Hillary Clinton lied to become president. Tunsil lied to play football. Let's keep things in perspective here.

"Tunsil lied."
"Well but other people lied too."
"ok"

It is a no win for OM. The NCAA can and will use heresay if a request for interview with Tunsil is declined. "Okay, you will not answer our questions and we understand that you are not obligated to do so. In that event and without clarification from you, the only option we are left with is to consider the evidence as it stands."

On the other hand, OM needs him to talk to the NCAA and on the other hand they want him no where near a NCAA interviewer. Precarious situation.

3 hands. Two to distract you while the third slips the money under the table.

No sir. You are missing the point. Powell was not needed. She was on record. Within 2 weeks, people were being interviewed.

It's being used now to investigate.
