Yeah, but the other list isn't that bad either.

Kind of a screwy ranking that's an outlier from the rest
as most of these rankings usually look the same.

Most schools' websites tout their USNWR ranking.

This ranking is one of the more obscure ones for sure.

Um... USC is like seven spots below Georgia in the 201-225 bracket on that list... so "unranked"?

Not obscure at all. Most schools use the USNWR listing because it ranks US colleges and universities in a variety of categories--liberal arts, research u's, regional colleges...

USNWR has recently added a list of top universities in the world, but USNWR is a johny come lately in ranking world universities. The Times (from the UK) has been at it a while.

The most credible source for a ranking of the best universities in the world is probably the ARWU list. LINK

There is always an element of subjectivity built in..and lists vary depending upon the variables used to determine "best."....whether reputation, research dollars, publications by faculty or whatever.

Interesting. I'm not sure I recall ever seeing Vandy ranked that far below GT. Also a little surprised Bama isn't in the 351-400 range. Other than that seems like a decent list from my limited perspective.
