Better than Schotty? Maybe Maybe not.

Cheney's Pitt offense finished one spot behind Shotty's UGA offense in total offense this year.

Pittman good. Cheney somewhere in the meh to bad range.
FU has made a pretty good jump up over the last couple of years

Do what Arizona State did to get around the HCIW recruiting restrictions. The Devils gave Norvell the title Deputy Head Coach.

Kirby Smart, Deputy Head Coach. AKA, Deputy Dawg. Has a nice ring to it. Throw in a badge as a bonus.

Mett beat this guy Aaron Murray out while at UGA before getting booted for groping a big alumni daughter

Close, no cigar.

Mett had a better spring game than Murray. Murray had a better overall spring.Murray would have been listed as 1 going into Fall practice but the position was still open. When Mett was thrown off the team, the issue was settled.

Oh, and the girl he groped was a bar maid in Valdosta, not the daughter of a prominant alum. Not that it matters who he played grab arse with...That incident was the final straw. Mett stayed in trouble while at UGA for drinkin and carousin.....like a lot of freshmen do.

He is talented and I wish him well, beginning next Sunday. Meanwhile, Dawgs BTHO of LSU.

t's because the cheapest endzone upper deck tickets for UGA-LSU and UGA-SC are $190 per ticket on Stub Hub.

You could always become a New Mexico State fan. They sellin season tix for 49 bucks. That's for 7 home games.

Even at that price they only half fill their stadium.

Neither. Didn't graduate from UGA but spent 30 plus years on campus as a prof.
Gotta go with passing over Erk and eventually hiring Ray Goff.

Oxford, MS. 1832

The other Oxford was approaching 1,000 year anniversary before Oxford, Ms came along.
If bigger meant better, poor Vandy would be at the bottom of the academic heap and Alabama would be a second tier football power.
"too big for their britches."

New freshman, arriving late to a class at UGA due to problems negotiating the bus system connecting north and south campus:

"whoo whee. That bus was so crowded some old boy coulda raped me and I woulda never known who did it. "

Scowl on professor's face noticeably softened.

Duke and Georgia Tech would be my top choices. We have enough football value to sustain the conference as it is. Academic and basketball history would be a nice addition.

Ga Tech lies and cheats. Screw em.

he Aggie Band is definitely unique. I think it's really cool that the same tunes and cadences that were around when my dad walked on campus are the same ones I heard and the same ones my little brother gets to experience now. Very neat thread of tradition. You'll see when you get to Kyle Field, but even if Bama is winning by 50, the Aggie Band will still get a rousing ovation when they take the field

The only thing I remember about A&M from your last trip to Athens back in 1980 was your impressive band. Your fb team was crappy back then.

I would move Stallings up. His one national championship ended a post-Bear drought.

Meh. Goff followed by everyone else.
Meyer and Kiffin.

Glen Mason, UGA coach for a day, rates an honorable mention.

Their failure will never match the satisfaction of watching Spurrier fail after his exit from the SEC though.
College Station, the Big Thicket, and a lot of the Piney Woods of East Texas have more in common with the south, except for the fascination with boots and beef BBQ, than El Paso or Lubbock, which are definitely not Southern.

I currently live in Central West Texas and not much here is remotely Southern either.

There were antebellum cotton growin plantations within spitting distance of Fayettvul' fwiw.
