Would ULL sue LSU if the latter rolled out "Louisiana's Tigers" gear I wonder ..

It would be quite the troll, but wouldn’t look great coming from the flagship.

A better troll would be LaTech or SELU re-branding themselves as “Louisiana”.

Why do the buckeyes refer to themselves as 'THE Ohio State'?

That one is retarded, I agree, A&M using Texas Aggies just seems weird, I don't see many equivalents. The branding part makes sense and A&M Aggies being a mouthful

You're not very good at this. Just because a school is an Agricultural and Mechanical college, doesn't make their nicknames, "aggies".

Why does A&M call themselves this? Not a flame, genuinely curious. You never hear "Ohio Buckeyes," "Mississippi Bulldogs," etc.

We've always been called the Texas Aggies.

In the early 1900s, the land grant college would be called the (name of state) "aggies"

Michigan Aggies (became MSU)
Oklahoma Aggies (Okie State)

You get the point.

Here is a vintage Oklahoma State logo:

No they aren't. NEO is the Norse. The Oklahoma Aggies are Oklahoma State.

Well, A&M no longer stands for anything....just part of the name. So you are THE A&M Aggies of Texas, whereas Texas is THE University of Texas.
