Don't lose to the B1G tonight, now. Would be pretty embarrassing around here.

The only thing that makes Arkansas a slightly attractive SEC hoops program is that their fanbase cares slightly more than average in the SEC. Give me Florida, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee and hell even A&M as far as inherent advantages go.
You could have just typed "I'm a retard" and saved some time.

If Rip Van Winkle had had to deal with the leadership in our Athletic Department over the last two decades he would have woken up, taken a look around, and euthanized himself.

What makes arkansas a sleeping giant?

we're gonna suck next year
Although LSU may not be great next year, good things take time. Before our historic season we were an average team for the most part. Alabama (as much as I hate them) have had a historic stretch, but before that they sucked for a bit. It's the process that counts, and I can't wait to see our teams growth throughout the next few years!

What makes arkansas a sleeping giant?
-Arkansas has shown that it can sustain championship level teams for several years
-High school basketball talent in Arkansas is booming
-Arkansas has an elite head coach who can also recruit anyone in the country
-everyone is excited about being able to go to games again while football is down so there's even more attention on the basketball program

We literally just signed a top 10 recruiting class of all Arkansas kids last year. Inherent advantages?
We have great facilities, top 10ish attendance in the country and the tradition is there for us to be a top 15 team every year in basketball. Just had shitty coaching these past 20 years.

Musselman is using the Arkansas against the world mentality Nolan employed and it’s a beautiful thing.
Posted on 3/22/21 at 10:58 am to boogiewoogie1978
Indeed. Musselman knew Arkansas had the fan support, in state recruiting and facilities that blue bloods have, yet without fans expecting a final 4 every year. That was the main reason he was eyeing the Arkansas job well before they even fired their previous coach. Keep him happy and he'll stay for a long time.

The Little Rock metro area produces some of the best high school players in the nation just a bout each year lately.
Some parts of Arkansas are bigger into high school basketball than football.
The problem is that Mike Anderson couldn't clamp down on the talent in Arkansas. He either didn't try or said this recruit didn't fit my system.

Proven ability to be successful under two different prior coaches (Sutton and Richardson).
Massive fan support. Even though we've sucked, we are still around top 10 in attendance. We still care.
In the 1990s, we went to the Final Four three times. We were the winningest program in the country from 90-95.

Texas should've shite-canned Shaka as soon as he lost to Nevada in 2018 and made a run at Mussleman as soon as that game concluded. But alas, here we are.
Hopefully they'll do the same with ACU or Oral Roberts' coach this time around
