Always been like this. You should have stayed in the Big 12 if this was your mindset. You have to win the games you are supposed to win in this league.

We aren’t comparing Texas vs other sec teams. We are comparing Texas vs big 12, ACC, and Norte dame. And if head to head doesn’t matter then why play the games lol. We are talking about a game difference. It’s not like Texas is 6-6.
This is why college basketball uses metrics about who you actually beat, not just solely focusing on W-L record.

I don’t know about other conferences, but the SECCG shouldn’t impact your rankings over another SEC team who DIDN’T make it.
Now, how that should be done…who knows? & I know there are many “What If?” scenarios.
But it’s not like the 2 SECCG teams purposely scheduled 1 more game than everyone else.

Name a time you beat 3 of the top 13 teams and played the number one team in their house and finished 9-3 in a 12 team playoff? Dont recall that at all

A&M's 2012 and 2020 teams should have played for national titles, but we didn't win the games we should have.
The 2012 team was the only team to beat eventual champion Alabama and destroyed OU in our bowl game. The 2020 team was ranked 4th going into selection and was jumped by Ohio State.

In 2012 it was only top 2, in a 4 team format you still may not have been selected since Oregon, ksu, bama, and Florida (who beat you) only had one loss that year. You finished 5th but there’s arguments you aren’t in that year either.
In 2020 you lost to the natty champ and your schedule was atrocious, you did beat Florida who ended 13 but you played a worse schedule that year than this year. I do agree with you Even with your scheduled that year was weird and ridiculous we let a 6-0 osu play for a natty.
I agree with both you are close and making the argument for sure. That’s why 2 and 4 was stupid. I think 16 is the right number. At that point teams like Texas who played a top 8 schedule will get in at 9-3 no matter what and you can still reward a 10-1 big 12 or ACC team
