The SEC Rant has spoken and rendered its verdict for LSU

Let me preface by saying we all throw out the word "hate" in describing our feelings about rivals or other teams. There is no doubt that passions surrounding college athletics and the SEC in particular get stoked to unreasonable levels and the "hate" burns hotter than the sun. Regardless, I find it somewhat disturbing that so many of you are giddy at the thought of LSU being expelled from the SEC. Over 90 years of competition, great games, the fun and excitement of being in Tiger Stadium or having the Tigers visit your campus. Rivalries, big and bigger, just tossed out like a fast food bag.
I have been to only five other SEC stadiums as an LSU fan. I have experienced friendly and not so friendly taunting, trash talk but, win or lose, I've always enjoyed it. It's fun, entertaining and creates lasting memories good and bad.
I have "hated" and continue to "hate" many SEC programs and their fans but I have also shared many laughs with the folks. I live in Jacksonville and for 25+ years worked with predominately Gator alums. I would never wish for the Gators to leave the SEC; nor Bama etc. I was a small boy in the late 50s and early 60s when the LSU-Ole Miss rivalry was intense and the games had national implications. I hated the Rebs (still do). However I could not envision an SEC without Ole Miss from the perspective of an LSU fan. I will rejoice at their defeat any Saturday but that's it.
Now I doubt it gets as far as LSU being expelled. Cooler heads in Baton Rouge will prevail when assessing the benefit risk equation. I think this is a trivial matter when you consider the current state of college sports and the ambiguity of professional status or the stupidity of the NCAA rules and how they applied the 5 for 5 implementation.

This never has and never will be an LSU problem. This is an NCAA problem. We learned to game the system, just like everyone else and they’re all losing their crap. Deep down they don’t want us gone, they know how boring things would get around here. ;).

LSU isn't getting expelled. Nor would I want that. The SEC doesn't want that. I don't even think that has ever been discussed. I think it was irresponsible reporting.
I don't think we know much more until tomorrow afternoon. I also question why LSU is choosing to push this envelope. As an Aggie, I don't really care about the 2 players you brought in. It just doesn't move the needle for me when we play in a few weeks.
Is it another crappy thing for college football... yes, I believe it is. Just add it to the list.

It has been discussed. And not just by posters on the rant. Very serious people have had very serious conversations about what they are calling the LSU problem.
Who is actually making the decisions at LSU? It does not seem to be Rousse or Ausberry. Landry? The board of supervisors? The group of super boosters? It isn’t Rousse. They hired him from McNeese not for his stellar leadership, but because they had to hire someone and they thought he would be easy to control.
What pops up when you click his bio on the LSU website is very appropriate.

Rousse, as President, would have been in any meetings on the subject. Verge would have been informed.
The large donors I know wouldn't be making those decisions.

Ok. Lets go down this rabbit hole. The SEC expells LSU. Fix the scheduling problem now.

LSU has not broken a single rule, filed a single lawsuit or failed to comply.
The SEC attempted to ban something that already had a TRO preventing it from being banned. Players filed a lawsuit. The judge upheld the initial TRO and issued a Show Cause Order for the SEC to present their case as to why the judge should allow the SEC to violate the TRO.
Nothing else has happened. Both Kiffin and LSU have said they will comply with the courts orders.
Emotional fans are the only ones talking right now. The problem with getting everything from entertainment sources is it’s mostly based in opinion including the lawyers they have on.

They have experience. They just added Texas and Oklahoma and it went smoothly. This wouldn’t happen overnight. You simply replace LSU with another team and make the schedules.

Correct. LSU has signaled to the SEC that a division judge in East Baton Rouge is more important than the league they have been a voluntary member of since inception.
LSU fans seem to think this is all about two players. It isn’t.
It is about an SEC member telling the SEC they are going to do what they want regardless of what the conference votes for. This isn’t about 2 players, it is about LSU signaling to the SEC that LSU refuses to be governed by the SEC.

The chair of the SEC presidents and chancellors jusr made a public statement that while expelling LSU is not what they want, it is on the table and has been discussed.

A few questions. You have at least your TE from Ole Miss practicing. Does that mean he has enrolled in classes? Does that not mean he is on the roster?
I don't think he can just show up to practice randomly.

This is disingenuous at best.
It’s state court which can be appealed or moved to federal court, but apparently the SEC didn’t want to do that.
You are using emotional wording instead of just sticking to the facts or you don’t really care about the facts.
Point to anything that saws LSU or Lane Kiffin not stating they will abide by the courts decision.
Just because the SEC makes a rule doesn’t mean it’s final. Look at Ole Miss lawsuit to get a 6th year for their player.
If the NCAA made 5 for 5 the only rule with no exceptions there wouldn’t be a mess.
They made a rule: 5 for 5, but not 2022 players because frick you that’s why.
The rule was passed when most thought they exhausted their eligibility and tried to play NFL, MLB or NBA.
LSU is taking the heat because former Ole Miss players aren’t trying to return to Ole Miss but follow Kiffin.

I think the SEC is required to first respond to the court that enjoined them. That's the first step tomorrow. Some attorney would be able to predict the next step... perhaps an appelate court in Louisiana if necessary.
I would think the Texas case may be dealt with also since that could impact the SEC.
