I have watched the SECN more over the past several months and I must admit that I am underwhelmed. The content leaves much to be desired.

With that said, The lack of quality programming is only made worse by the lack of quantity. A league the size of the new SEC will need more than 1 channel to adequately showcase all of its schools athletic departments. We need to especially promote our Olympic sports.

We'll have to teach them how to good make good content like "Cooking With Vince." Luckily they get all our studios when the SEC network takes over Longhorn Network.

We?

You are not in the SEC yet. You might not ever be. I'd say there is a 50/50 chance that Texas backs out of their commitment of joining the SEC. You won't have a winning season ever again if you go through with it and your entire administration realized it after we stomped your asses.

Technically, they are in the SEC; they're just not competing, yet (will they ever???).

There won’t be anytime for expanding the content on the network once it is showing the 2005 Texas vs USC game everyday

That is crazy. They should move their headquarters to Austin. ESPN already has the LHN and it would be easy to roll it into the SECN as stated above. Plus it would give the league the advantage of using Austin's high tech multi media communication networks such as Google Fiber.

ESPNU used to have good daily coverage back around 2012

I agree with the OP. Most of the extra content is trash. True South is unwatchable.

Side note, I can't believe the Longhorn Network even exists. Every single thing that plays on there could be streaming on demand on SECN+ or ESPN3.

Talk about not having enough quality content...

Once Texas and OU come to the conference. I suspect they will split the Longhorn Network and SECN into two different regions. Like a SECNetwork-East and a SECNetwork-West. Each channel covering 8 teams.

Absolutely agree, their shows, especially the coaches and old players show with Bill Stewart, etc..

And no I'm not just biased due to their excellent season long countdown to the GOC in 2011..seeing it from around week 2 on forward.

I agree with this. :kige:

And the league will function more like two leagues rather than one. At least for football.

There's no money in that for ESPN. They will push games to ESPN+ to get more subscribers. ESPN has already done this with 9 SEC OOC games this year.

Saturdays Down South and TrueSouth are probably the two best shows on any sports channel.

Nah. LHN will cease operation. Everything will eminate from Charlotte.
