Unlikely, far more Union deaths in the Civil War than Confederate. The Confederate was a stronger infantryman. And my ancestors are Union & Confederate veterans, as well as conscious objectors.

I've always heard the people of the Appalachian region did not support succession. If so I give them credit for being smarter than their peers.
