Cal and UCLA have consistently produced NFL draft picks too.

Since 2012 - First 4 Rounds
Cal - 12 total (less than everyone but Vandy), 2 LoS (less than everyone but Vandy)

UCLA - 21 total (tied with South Carolina), 11 LoS (tied with Miss St)

UCLA has definitely had good players the last decade. They've also won 8+ games in 6 of the last 11 years.

So you think that Texas Tech and Auburn will start being equals in how much talent they send to the next level moving forward?

Works out for you that you are arguing a future event, but even so I can pretty much guarantee that won't be the case.

Yes, I think that the NIL and Big $$ Free Agency aka Transfer Portal era will see the Haves (Blue Bloods) separate themselves as the 1% and the Have Nots get grouped together and moving forward Auburn is Texas Tech, T your point hard to empirically prove a future event, but I think you can extrapolate out a good guess at it and I admit I could be wrong (I think rule changes need to happen for parity).

He thinks because UTx has more money than God that Auburn doesn't know how to buy players.

Auburn has been prepping for NIL since the 80s.

Except more teams in a league like the SEC are going to be the "haves" in terms of NIL than other places. Auburn is throwing around tons of money right now (not meant as a slight, it's legal now) and has signed some elite players in this incoming class.

LOL

You’re free to “LOL” at Texas A&M.

I get it’s tough not to be influenced by the narratives promulgated by the den of lunatics on this board. But fact is: Since expansion only three other programs (Bama, UGA, LSU) have notched more wins than have the Ags.

Which is the exact point most are making in this thread: Even a so-called middling SEC team is tested in ways most others aren't. Outside of a handful of cupcakes at the beginning (and sometimes end) of the season, there’s simply zero downtime. And that’s the key difference.

No one is insulting your programs or suggesting OU and UTex won’t win games; you wouldn't have been invited if that was the case. But gone are the days when your two teams battled out each other and no one else. You’ve been around here long enough to know that.

Here’s where my opinion differs from most of the rest you’ll likely read in this thread: I don’t for one second believe the Sooners and/or horns are “scared” of the challenge; rather, y’all are looking forward to it—as well you should. The SEC is home to a collection of the best teams in cfb. I’d rather finish dead last each season in the SEC than have remained in the vanilla B12.

the SEC gauntlet is not just the physical demands that challenges roster depth each week - it's the mental aspect of not only having to beat the team you play - but the hordes of natives that show up to actively participate with the sole purpose of destroying your team's will to win that game - Nashville being the only exception -
Good point. I totally forgot that Texas played in front of sparse crowds with nobody there...

Oh wait, they played in front of a sellout crowd in all but 2 games this year

I'm sorry, but the SEC is like every other conference: some really good teams, some middle-tier teams, and some teams that are just plain bad.

Agree - and I also don't think Oklahoma or Texas is gonna show up and be overwhelmed or anything. They'll be fine.

I know, right?

I mean, Texas just looked utterly hopeless on the road against the team that went undefeated in the SEC this year, right? Right???

Oh wait...

The amount of lower-tier teams that break out the kneepads for teams that consistently kick their arse in the SEC is astounding. Y'all really need to wipe your chins

Yeah except the middle-tier teams would dominate other conferences aside from the 1 or MAYBE 2 really good teams from each conference.

You will have to see it for yourself. It’s different.

No kidding. A&M and Missouri both have a better win percentage in the SEC than they did in the Big 12, so it must be much easier.

Can't wait!!!

Are we talking CONFERENCE wins here?

Beating up on Mercer, UTSA, UL Monroe, Abilene Christian, and Prairie View A&M doesn't impress me.

If we ARE talking conference wins, that's a negative indictment on your league and not the dub you think it is.

Uh... hate to break it to you, but the SEC has a losing record against both the Big 12 and the ACC this year

Well I said the title game not the whole playoffs. Typically Bama and UGA dominate the playoffs as a whole outside of a couple of games. The best playoff games have been when the SEC plays each other.

The SEC is a fastball league. You have to bring it every week. Human nature tells us that is impossible though and that’s why so many good teams get knocked off in a game or two. I can’t explain it to you. You will find out soon enough. Right now OU and Texas can roll out their helmets and win a few games. Those days are about to change seriously.

So triggered that they're glazing the aggies now

My god... I knew the poor academic reputation of most schools in this league was well warranted, but I had no idea the fanbases in this conference were actually this soft

Texas beat Kansas by 26 this year? The same Kansas team that spent more weeks ranked than a&m?

Y'all paid $1.5 million to lose to app state, buddy. I'd sit this one out.
