Assuming you are a true Texas fan (and I’m convinced there are a number of SECRant alters with Longhorn logos who are on here just to stir the pot), the question simply becomes one of whether you believe the SEC is the premier conference with the best overall talent from top to bottom? If you don’t you should be content to stay where you are. Why make the transition at all if you are are not going to improve your lot as a program?
Evidently the talking heads of the Texas and Oklahoma programs take a much different view of the SEC’s status when compared to the poster trolls on this board. LINK LINK
True Texas fans know the answer and it is dumb for you to ask the question unless as I suspect your true intent is just to troll.

We know Texas is adding elite teams to their schedule with Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Florida. Fact is: nobody plays all four of those teams in one year. So the remainder of the league really isn't that different from other power conference schedules top to bottom. Hence why Texas isn't walking into some insane gauntlet they haven't already faced like some of you delude yourselves into believing.
The teams you mentioned have won multiple NC in recent years, While, perhaps, no team plays all of those teams, there are SEC teams outside of that group that can win the NC given the chance. The SEC "grind" is a tip of the hat to this fact.
And you are wrong that Texas is not walking into some insane gauntlet. While the SEC does usually win the NC recently (the last 20 or so years) they usually do not finish unbeaten in SEC play.

Because week in and week out you’ll play more future NFL players spread across the league. Check the numbers! The SEC puts more guys in the league.
The teams you face will be more physical, more brutal.. injuries, bumps , bruises etc will be more prevalent.

We understand SEC is a deeper league with louder, more hostile road environments.
Is that what you want to hear? Trying to figure out exactly what we should be saying that would appease you people? Should we shut down our programs?

The only teams I have consistently had zero worry about are Vanderbilt and Kentucky. The rest it didn’t matter what their record was. There was always a bit of worry of varying degrees.
Can Texas and OU honestly say that?

And I’d like to see some data that playing against more NFL talent means more injuries.
Tell me you never played a sport vs good competition without saying it lol.

You just successfully described how college football works. Congratulations!
It's not just an SEC thing that any team can win. It's college football. Big upsets happen all the time.
Nobody is saying the SEC will be easy, but it is like every other conference where you have top tier teams and lower tier teams.
And i thought Texas fans were supposed to be the pretentious ones
SEC teams play for and win NC, do other schools in other conferences do that on a regular basis?

The SEC gauntlet schedule mythos
The threads that start with "Proud to be joining the SEC. Looking forward to seeing all the great road environments and facing the best programs week in and week out. It's going to be a challenge but I'm confident we belong."
Those would go over better.
Seen many of those?
Rant gonna draw in the trolls.
Most UT/OU fans would run from SEC gauntlet is a myth crap the day they joined the SEC you'd think.

Time will tell. The national narrative for the SEC right now is that it is down. It's not just some UT and OU fans that think y'all are just being over the top about it.

College Football Playoff Rankings Top 25: Final
21 Tennessee Volunteers 8-4
13 LSU Tigers 9-3
11 Ole Miss Rebels 10-2
9 Missouri Tigers 10-2
6 Georgia Bulldogs 12-1
4 Alabama Crimson Tide 12-1
Down?
UGA and Bama were the best teams in the nation. After watching the best teams on championship Saturday I saw three teams that looked like the best. Texas, UGA and Bama.
The SEC isn't down at all.
Not even a little bit.
After we eat the B1G in bowl games and Bama or Texas wins the natty the whole SEC down thing will die again until next year. Then you'll be like....why these clowns saying the SEC is down again????

As an outsider looking in, it's kind of wild to me that Texas has one good year out of the last 15 and think they are going to run the SEC lol. Aren't their 6 top ranked teams in final standings? Not to mention those numbers are skewed in a major way that the rankings can't account for because the talent level is so much higher in the SEC so bad teams in other conferences get to skate by weaker competition and get those rankings. You're telling me Arizona is a true #14 when LSU is #13 or that James Madison, Liberty, Oregon State, Penn State, Iowa would beat #25 Tenn, that's a farce. Or even Oregon having two losses if they had to play an SEC schedule. I get Texas beat Bama, and that gives them ammo for years to think they will run the conference, but that is an insane thought process.
Here comes the blah blah blah, he must be an LSU alter. No I just use my brain.

Elephant is carrying teams that produced 6 national champions and 2 runner-ups during the same period of time that the Big12 and Texas have combined to produce only one champion.
Your perception sucks.
