I'm not saying the SEC doesn't have tough places to play, I am simply trying to say that decibel level relates more to fan interaction rather than bodies filling seats.
Holy frick you retards are in for a rude awakening.
Again what’s the toughest environment Texas played in the Big 12?
Certainly not TCU Baylor or Kansas with their 40k seat stadiums. Maybe it’s Iowa state or Kansas state or Oklahoma state who have stadiums smaller than Mississippi state (and no cowbells)? UCF and Houston seem tough too.
It’s fricking Texas tech isn’t it lmfao?

I personally think Saban will be back next year. Saban usually tells you what he is thinking if you listen. He does have the feel to him like he is soaking things in more. I think he knows the day is coming. Saban is the ultimate competitor though. Not only is the SEC about to get a lot harder next year but we also have the 12 team playoff. I just do not think Saban can walk off without trying that out a couple of seasons first. Plus Bama is pretty young this year. He will be competitive next year barring major injuries.

I expect no dropoff.
I expect an average of 2-3 more losses for Texas and OU every year.
You will find out.

To the OP:
- two best teams this year were Bama and UGA. Both escaped the Plains in Auburn with a win - barely - in 4th qtr
…and that’s not a crazy talented team at Auburn now. Road games in SEC are especially tough - even against the 2nd tier teams like Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss.
You will see.
Hmm... New Mexico didn't seem to have much of a problem at Jordan Hare.
Did you entertain the thought that may Georgia and Alabama simply aren't as good as they have been, but were able to walk through a down SEC? Especially given the SEC's losing record OOC?

Their toughest road games this season were Houston and TCU, they were also taken to overtime by Kansas State.
And this is one of the better Texas teams in awhile.

You can cherry pick shite losses for every team at home.
The fact is that hostile environments go a long way even for down teams.

Texas has a history of playing at Kyle Field, that's nothing new.
Tennessee is an alright team, but shouldn't have finished the season ranked.
Florida is in shambles right now. They literally lost to FSU with a backup QB.

Bama will be fine. We just hope for a drop off in recruiting since tGOAT is no longer there.
And by drop off I mean top 10 recruiting rankings, not top 3.

You do not understand the Alabama and Auburn rivalry. I have seen a lot better teams than this Bama team go to Auburn and struggle or lose outright. Same for UGA. Auburn will play Bama and UGA to the death. Most years Bama struggles at Auburn. It’s not a shock anymore when it happens.

And it’s glorious but playing at the Swamp is difficult to leave with a W.

Remind me who beat the SEC champ and who lost to them 42-28?

Honestly.
You really truly believe that Florida and Auburn are going to be down perpetually? Or even for a decade?
You believe they won't pay for coaches and players and facilities to compete at a top 20 level at least?
Florida is down. They'll either improve or fire the staff and hire from a top tier list of candidates and try again inside the fertile recruiting grounds of their home state.
AU will pay whatever they have to to be competitive with Bama and UGA. They just will. And they'll spend and spend and hire and fire until they get there.
Us founding members know what's up.

That's the point, Texas can go all in for 2-3 games a year and cruise the rest of the season.
Playing like you did at Houston or TCU will get you beat at places like Arkansas or South Carolina.
You guys will figure it out soon enough.

Auburn is recruiting a lot of high level talent right now. i expect them to be good in the coming years. That being said, they lost to NM state this year so it's probably for the best that you don't bring them up lol.
Florida wont be good for awhile.

A team doesn’t have to be undefeated or close to that to be considered a tough game. That’s the whole point.
Posted on 12/13/23 at 12:28 pm to dkreller
Again, that's just college football. That is not just a SEC thing.

This thread doesn't make sense to me.
There is a reason UT and OU are joining the SEC. There's a reason A&M's recruiting was enhanced when they joined the SEC. The talent level across the schools in the SEC is, by far, at a higher level than other conferences and especially the Big 12.
For instance, here is a link (although it's from two years ago, the trend continues in the favor of the SEC) that shows that roughly 20% (505) of the players in the NFL come from the SEC whereas only 8% (207) of the players in the NFL come from the Big 12.
Players in the NFL by conference
This is WHY you're coming to the SEC... well, that and money. But the money is a result of the product on the field and investment in resources and facilities that bring in the best players.
I can't fricking wait for UT and OU to be on LSU's schedule. It's awesome

The point is they won't stay down. And you know what?
Someone who is above them has to move down to make room up top when they do.
AU didn't game plan for NMST. Freezes mistake. Then again two weeks of game prep almost swiped a win off Bama. Shrugs. Maybe Freeze and AU are obsessed with beating UGA and Bama so they pull out all the stops to do if.
Maybe they'd even buy players. Top ten classes. Top portal guys. Oh yeah, that's whats happening.
And Florida....they suck...they down. Checks recruiting...oh wait. They have a top ten class too.
Loading up for the next coach?
