Never had the pleasure of going to Gainesville but fortunately I have been to Orlando, Atlanta, Tampa, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Jackson, Knoxville, Memphis, Oxford, Chattanooga, Clemson, Charlotte, Asheville, Biloxi, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, DC, and Baltimore in the summer and none of those places was appreciably hotter or more humid than Houston. Our players will not give a shite about Columbia because it won't feel any different than what they are used to.

Actually it's pretty nice this summer. Not nearly as bad as usual.

We're gonna bust up their little princess parade. I imagine it'll look something similar to this:

Seems like you are trying a bit to hard on this one, don't give into the pressure of a forced rivalry.

I was thinking down-filled jacket

Seriously, SE Texas (including College Station) is as humid in the summer as anywhere not named New Orleans. USC may romp, but it won't be because of the humidity.

I don't understand why Texans make such a big point of pride around defending the insane proposition that beef barbecue is better than pork. Pork is the king of meat. Everyone else agrees. I'm from Texas, I've had BBQ at all the famous places in all the small towns, I've had BBQ at hundreds of tailgates and backyard get togethers. I'm overweight. I hate Obama. I drive a 4x4 truck. I am Texan in all other views and lifestyle choices. But I just don't get the beef thing. It's an inferior meat. The only advantage that cows have over pigs is that they are bigger and thus produce more meat per animal. But pork's actually more useful - you can eat the whole damn animal minus the actual toenail itself and the teeth.

Not like the others. It rarely gets above the mid 80's here even in so called hot summers.

I defend it because I genuinely like it better. Aside from ribs, pork ribs kick beef ribs arse. But besides that, I like beef better

I know, I just went on a rampage of listing everyplace Ive been in the greater south in the summer so I could be all-inclusive. It's the altitude and up-state location of Asheville, not the latitude. I've been to Manhattan in August and it was hot as a motherfricker. I've actually been to a small ski area near Asheville, so it's CLEARLY nothing like the rest! Haha. Plus there are hippes in Asheville.
