Oh, there won't be any "if you try it."
It'll happen.
It's actually a bigger deal with the Association of Former Students than it is w current students.
The A&M Former Student chapter in the area is "hosting" it (as well as a tailgate).
It's a university-sanctioned event that happens before every single game--home and away.
And it's so not a big deal. Trust me.
I'm anything but a shite-starter--but many SC peeps are attributing a negative motive to this that simply doesn't exist.
By the time midnight rolls around, something tells me the Gamecocks will be so involved with their own festivities, they won't be interested in taking the time to go watch a bunch of Ags tell "Ol' Army" fables and practice their yells.

This is the problem the teasips have. Y'all AREN'T the state. You don't represent anything other than some shitty school in Colombia, SC. We are the Texas Aggies and we'll practice yells wherever we want to practice yells. And you won't say a damn thing.
Why in the hell do you need to practice yells to begin with? Isn't it a little weird that you have to practice how to get excited during a football game?

You're not going to win the game but you are certainly welcome to try.
Are you suggesting that you have no chance to win the game unless we allow you to trample and stomp and yell and shite all over our 200 year old statehouse grounds in front of our 175 year old statehouse?
Yeah, well, then you're definitely going to lose the game 'cause y'all ain't desecrating those statehouse grounds.

There are many, many yells.
They're complicated
Yell helps the 12th Man get its game face on.
It's just a tradition.
Some of y'all take life very seriously.

We would never desecrate your grounds.
It's an honor to be guests in your home.
And we always behave as such.

No I'm not suggesting anything. I was just making a joke about a pep rally being "wrong".
Carry on...
Carry on...

I hear ya Buddy ... I think that's what the local president of your chapter said today in an interview from Chapin or something. But I'm pretty sure it's gonna be moved. He sounded like a nice guy and didn't realize the ramifications of their choice.
It's the first time they've ever tried it anywhere on someone statehouse grounds and they just picked the wrong one ... I mean of all statehouse grounds I cannot even imagine him choosing the one that women and kids died trying to defend from Sherman's raping pillaging bastards.
No foreign troops allowed on that soil.

I don't debate that there are a lot of chants and stuff but I've never heard of another school that will actively practice what they are going to say as a fan base. I'd say that taking life seriously would be the people that line up to practice being loud instead of just watching the game and sporadically erupting.

Without a doubt, the overt Aggie solidarity (cult?) isn't for everyone.
We understand that.
And we don't ask others to think it's anything but "just more stupid shite the Ags do"
To each his own.

I can live with that. My brother is a TAMU student but he doesn't ever have any answers about the history of yells and such. Guess he should have gone to fish camp.

Yeah, but sometimes he makes you wonder what's going through his head...
See Aggs... I'm an equal opportunity a-hole...

Here's my best recollection:
The yell leaders came from a practical joke that seniors played on a couple of freshmen. They had them dress up in janitors outfits and tell "fables" (disparaging stories about the other team) in order to entertain them and the women from TWU who were in town that weekend (mind you, this was in the 30's). When they noticed that their dates were paying more attention to the freshmen than to them, they pulled them out, put the uniforms on themselves, and took over.
"Farmers Fight" used to be much slower and to the tune of taps (this was what "Texas Fight" was ripped off of FWIW).
"Gig 'Em" came from playing the horned frogs (gigging the frogs)
"Military" is all about "killing" the class ahead of you. It has to do with the adage about "old Soldiers". They never die, they just fade away. Aggies didn't want to "fade away", so traditionally, the seniors are "shot down" by the juniors at the end of the year.
The WHOOP is easy...train whistle. "Hullaballoo, Caneck Caneck" is the train whistle followed by the sound of the train wheels on the tracks. "Chigaroogarem" is the sound of a train engine.
OLD ARMY = any class older than yours
Not sure about the origins about the others.

Mark Sanford already did that.

Have you ever been to an Aggie Midnight Yell? It is really quite harmless and it has never been an issue before. Really not worth making a big dramatic thing over. If you or your fans are getting this angry and upset to the point of threatening, then it says more about your delicate sensibilities than anything else.
