The reality of Lane to Florida

That leaves Ole Miss to hire a championship coach. Orgeron says he is ready to get back into it.

Yes and no. I believe that at some point in a man's life you have want something other than more money. If you say that he'd leave and go to FL because of a better chance to win a natty then he probably knew the odds were against him when he took the ole miss job.

But lane seems like one that's always gonna chase the money.

Wait a minute. Isn’t Layla from Florida? If so then it’s a done deal. That’s how we got Gruden those 3 times.

This pretty much is the situation in the Big ten. They don’t have the weekly crucible of the SEC. However, their two or three best teams can now compete and sometimes beat the SEC two or three best teams. That wasn’t the case 5, 10, 15 years ago.

I just don’t see Lane at UF.

The old guard at UF doesn’t want coaches who want to win. They just want coaches who toe the company line and stay out of drama and that’s all they care about.

Maybe times are changing and boosters are finally pushing back but there’s still too much of that mentality that needs to be cleared out first starting with the AD.

The best UF can hope for is a president who cares about UF athletics and pushes that narrative again.

I dont trust UF admin to hire the best HC.

These clowns have been brainwashed by Foley and love the lower level, up and comer, good ole boy types.

The only G5 coach I would be ok with is Golesh.

However, if they hire any of the big boys (with an offense), UF will be competitive.

At UF you win titles, at Ole Miss you can't. Very easy a big recruiting advantage no question at all, UF also has more money, a better history, more SEC football titles, 3 National titles Very, very, very, very easy to see UF is a better job. Very simple.

The Florida job is so easy, none of the last 4 coaches could win big, but the next guy will just have a cake walk to championships! Easy to recruit, even though the last 4 couldn’t, but the next guy will have it made!

Ole Miss is a better job than Florida.. We have been hearing for how many years about Florida being a wonderful can't say no to job.. Yet they have changed head coaches like underwear, all different types of mentalities, and have all failed to bring Florida to where the fan base thinks they belong which is as unrealistic as it gets.. You had a coach come who turned his head the other way and whose motto was lie, cheat, steal, but never lose! Mixed with a couple of good recruiting classes and had small window of success, but ever since then you are fighting to try and become something your not which is a blue blood power house.. The Florida fan base is one of the worst when it comes to being unrealistic and so quick to turn on a coach, If you ask me Lane needs to stay put, he had to deal with Tennessee fans and got out of there as quickly as possible the Florida fan base is a close 2nd to Tennessee when it comes to the way they view their program lol

Each of the big 3 in Florida should be successful, money and close to great high school players. Since the early 80's when population growth happened because AC became popular it has been a very good location for all three. We have all made insane coaching hires though. Like USC, Texas, Georgia, Louisiana etc...lot of good recruits nearby...but still need coaches who know what they are doing to get it done.

The comparison was Ole Miss an Florida. Would love to hear why you think Ole Miss is better? Please. No dumbass gifs either. Show me by results how you are even close to UF in the last 50 years.

Recruiting, money, stadium, history, head to head, conf title, nat titles, record, draft picks.

Please. Or bow out and make some sarcastic comment because you very well know it is not even close, at all.
