You just fired a coach that brought you a Heisman trophy and national title less than two full seasons ago. No coach in their right mind wants to work for an AD or fanbase that turns on you that fast. No matter how great the facilities or money are.

Oh shut the frick up we shot for the fences at the youngest top name available and we couldn’t poach him from a blue blood

Have you seen how Ed orgeron’s last 4-5 assistant hires have gone? No one in coaching circles wants to work for him. I wonder why? Lmao

It's so weird that so many think like this. Coaches aren't pussies. They have huge egos and think that they're going to win. When they except a big time job they aren't expecting to go .500 over a 2 year period. They aren't thinking about what happens if they lose. They are thinking about being able to win championships. This dumb narrative needs to die.

I mean, sure the situation in Baton Rouge was more nuanced than that, but that has nothing to do with perception and perception is, as always, king.

On the outside, people see a program which readily jettisons coaches who win and compete for national championships. Period. Full stop.

This board told me Orgeron was just a cheerleader on that team, it was all Burrow and Brady supposedly.

I'm sure coaching candidates feel the same.

Hell, Kiffin had to tell Orgeron that LSU was running the same play over and over on defense before Orgeron "fixed" it.

They're expecting the next Saban which is unrealistic. There is only one Saban and his consistency.

That is correct. I don't proof read when I'm watching football or really ever to be honest.

Why did you feel the need to start a thread on tRant with the same information you posted on the coaching change board?

I wonder if any of it has to do with a toxic culture in the program?

We haven't ever fired a coach that is competing for championships and winning 8 games a year isn't acceptable either. Any coach that's worth being considered for the job understands that.

This may be true if all of O's personal issues hadn't been on full display for the past two years.

Plus the whole hiring coordinators without interviewing them thing and depending on other coaches to recommend people to fill his positions. Then he hired two first time coordinators and later said maybe they didn't have the experience they needed.

And saying LSU's defense would be better in 2020 than 2019, and sissy blue shirts, and all the rest.

I think the entire college football world can easily understand why O was fired.

So according to the rant, Coach O was THE reason for this.

LSU fires him, now what?

Y'all can't make up your mind.
