Yeah, if true, shows how stupid/ immature/delusional Pruitt was/is.
That said, with his passion he MIGHT be a good coach. If so, he's gonna have to learn to chill like Boom is learning (I think).
Pruitt is as good of a DC as you're ever going to find, but running a program requires a whole different skill set. Maybe he has it, maybe he doesn't. If the above story is true, it makes one wonder.

Nah, that was after the 2012 SECCG when he knocked the bottle of Gatorade off the table and Chuck Oliver asked him that stupid question.
Actually it was a coke can he threw against the wall and it was "backstage" after the interview.

There's a lot of bullshite going on in this thread. Kirby trashing Pruitt serves no purpose. It does serve a purpose for Murry. He's still butthurt over the Georgia-Alabama SECG and he's a CMR loyalist. CMR was a weak leader. He wasn't good enough to win the big ones at Georgia and Pruitt saw that weakness in him. How Jeremy expressed it is the question that is all the bullshite in this thread. I don't know what happened and I don't trust anyone else in this thread to provide answers.
I think Pruitt is the best defensive coordinator in College Football. He's been trained and battle tested by the best and coached in the biggest BIG GAMES to be the most qualified and best prepared defensive coach (pre-Head Coach hire at UT) in America. I like Pruitts defenses much better than KS defenses. Tennessee is going to field a dangerous, aggressive, solid defense that puts pressure on every team they play - pressure on the run, the pass, and special teams. If Tennessee can put together an offense that can score a few points they could easily win 8 - maybe 9 games this year. Tennessee will come out prepared, strong, and well coached on both sides of the ball.
Tennessee has one of the toughest schedules in college football. Despite that, they'll come out looking like an SEC football team in every phase of every game. They'll show up rough and ready. They'll be well coached, play hard-nosed tough football for 4 quarters, make fewer mistakes, and keep themselves in every game until the elite teams talent gap overwhelms them.

Good luck with that.
Tennessee and Pruitt will face the Treon Harrises of the world and faceplant.
And the pressure of those bad losses will explode in the face of fat Phil.

Another moron who thinks Murray is moping around with a chip on his shoulder over a college game he lost 6 friggin years ago, a loss Pruitt had nothing to do with. Murray hasn’t wasted his time on that crap.
As for Smart’s defenses, they were only ranked #1 practically every single year, so no, Pruitt’s defenses weren’t better and he’ll find that out this fall when Kirby stomps his arse.
Hell, Pruitt was screwing coeds at FSU according to rumors. Why a coed would sleep with him I’ll never know. It’s no wonder they didn’t fight to keep him.

I agree Pruitt is a great DC? But who was the DC for all of Bama's national championships? Minus this year, CKS was a major hub in the the Bama wheel. Pruitt may turn out to be a great coach....but let's see if he's winning the SEC in year 2 and in the NC game.
Pruitt will be a players coach. If he gets the chance to bring his players in and coach them like Bud Kilmer, he'll have a chance. If he acts like he did in Athens, UT fans will love his defense but his offense will quit on him. You live, you learn....I think if Fulmer will ride with Pruitt, UT will be a force in a few years.
That said, he damn sure isn't Kirby Smart and I'd love some of what you're smoking if you think he's better or more proved that CKS.

KS walked into a great situation at UGA, they had averaged 10 wins per year for the past 5 years before he got there
UT on the other hand...

To think 2012 has any relevance to 2016 is a bit silly.

Agree, but Kirby also clearly walked into a better situation than what Pruitt has at Tennessee.

Spoken like some lower "middle" management athletics dept suckup who likes to pretend to be in the know, pretending to know what "having influence" at the SEC level means
