Better job means a lot of different things to different people.

If Florida made him a ludicrous offer it would have to come with a significant contract and an understanding that a lot has to change. Lane and UF would have to accept several year rebuild of the team and NIL system.

Honestly I don't think that's Lane's style. I don't think he wants to be at 7-5 in two years with fans still being assholes to him because it's not enough.

Expectations at UF have been set by quick success the three coaches before Napier. And they all had very short leashes. It kind of mirrors the USC situation he stepped into: broken program that won't even be satisfied with "good" years.

I think if you are thinking about long term success and being a consistent program, Florida is the obvious answer. Ole Miss is going to have fall off once all of his transfers leave. Even with all of the success that Ole Miss has had the past two year and the disaster that Florida has been, Florida is still out recruiting Ole Miss.

It's 2024 - recruiting = money. If your boosters pony up nothing else matters anymore.

Why aren’t they winning? Not like Sunbelt Billy isn’t a good coach when it comes to X’s and O’s.

High school recruiting is a crap shoot. You can’t stock pile talent anymore.

Billy isn’t going to ride the bench two years if he can play somewhere else in most cases.

Now you have to replace Billy, where pre portal you were counting on playing the next year.

Have to have a blended mix.

Kiff isn’t answering to a board, to the big money alum.
He’s going to go for it on 4th and 15 on his own 30 and dgaf what uncle billy and his money says about it.

Why wouldn’t they just reload with more transfers?

It’s Ole Miss?!? Besides having ZERO staying power and ZERO tradition in football, have you ever visited Oxford? I have many times, and I’m not just referring to the games. There is literally nothing to do in that one horse town and worse than that, you’re not even near anything decent. Maybe John Grisham will chip in for Lane’s salary but he will NEVER win a Natty at OM. Even though I’m not a Florida fan, they’ve done it before, and can do it again and offer a MUCH nicer place to live and coach.

What do you mean? Lane has built a system where he recruits good solid players anf goes out and fills in positions of need via transfers. They already have a stud future qb in Simmons.

So why aren't Ole Miss booster ponying up more money than Florida boosters? That's the point. You have more money and resources at Florida than you do at Ole Miss.

This is the perfect post of an Ole Miss fan that's scared Kiffin is about to bolt for Florida.

They do, but it’s not all about buying players look at the whole Judkins situation. Lane was willing to let him walk because he simply wasn’t worth the money.

Have you seen Florida play with Napier as a play caller? He couldn’t coach a peewee team.

Money isn't going to be the decision maker. He will be very rich at UF or OM and make similar money. He can consistently compete for national titles at Florida with a roster on par with the Ohio St, Alabama, and UGA's of the world. Ole Miss can't give him that. He nearly left for Auburn and UF is a much better job than Auburn. He craves attention and respect on a national level. Ole Miss will never give him that.

Kiffin is the guy that wants to be back in the state of Florida. Florida is in the best position to get Kiffin.

Like FSU last year, they seem overly dependent on the portal.

You sure about the recruiting part? His recruiting class rankings by year per 247:

2024 - 21st
2023 - 23rd
2022 - 27th

There are UF fans who are worried Kiffin would be Mullen part 2, but with a very funny twitter account.
