Realistically, I don't hate the idea. I'm just glad you didn't use the word "pod".
Well that is better than hating it..
Why is not perfect for you?

We shouldn't allow Texas fans to start threads until after they've been in the SEC for a full season. They need a massive ego check.

Auburn and Bama in the West, while OU and Mizzou in the East? Hard pass.

What exactly is wrong for trying to create a schedule that everyone likes? That has nothing to do with my ego.
If you actually read the OP, you would see that is starts with the original 10 SEC teams and puts the next 6 in rotating pods to appease the original 10. But you probably didn’t read it..

Horse shite… 10 game SEC schedule is a no… it leaves no room for traditional OOC rivalries (Fl St, GaTech, Clemson, Ok State) and another big-5 OOC game. Then what? 2?SEC playoff games, 2-3 NCAA playoff games? Up to 17 games against top of the nation competition? And each game runs 30% more plays than a NFL game?
But can be simple. Play a nine game SEC schedule, two eght-team divisions, play 7 division games, 2-cross division games. You will play Iall SEC teams at least once every four years, and honor all traditional rivalries.
LSU. A&M, Ole Miss, Miss State, Mo, Ark, Tx, Ok;
Ala, Tenn, Aub, Ga, Fla, Ky, SC, Vandy.
This attempt to creat “pods” just creates a stupidly complex schedule (see above). People advocating pods here seem to be mostly trying to insure their team gets an “easy” pod. Pods is an invitation to forever bickering plus it requires an additional SEC playoff game.
Keep it traditional and simple.

frick hangups on Divisional champs.
All that matters is a fair distribution of historic SoS (ack it will ebb and flow) in permanent divisional or pod play and equally fair permanent cross-div opponents to balance the scheduling and protect as many "meaningful" rivalries.
A 10 game conf schedule will result in identifying the top 2 teams. Set a conf record, head to head, and then highest rank in the CFP final regular season set of tie breaker system and let the best two teams play for Conf Title.
Consider eliminating that CCG outright depending on expansion level of CFPs.
