The old true Kickoff Classic games were legit.

This is pretty sparse for opening weekend.

The playoff system and the move to a 9 game conference schedule is going to screw this up.

Make a B1G vs ACC, SECvs Big12 challenge week then mid season swap em up.

Blind draw. Each conference lists their home teams. Two weeks before a representative from each home team draws a team.

Each team gets one home game.

LSU could draw Texas Tech to start the year then mid season they could end up in Happy Valley or An Arbor.

They fricked around expanding conferences and adding a conference game. Expanded playoffs make SOS less relevant.

Consequence=Week 1 is ruined. It will get worse every year.

Throw in that the last champ didn't play anyone with a pulse for their OOC games.

May as well make week 1 a mandatory conference game. Everyone is going to schedule tomato cans going forward.

Expanding the playoffs didn’t make SOS less relevant, the CFP’s disregard for it did. If the committee would have taken Texas over Miami or Bama and cited they went to Columbus and played close as a part of their calculus, then you’d see more loading up on OOC opponents.

BAMA wasn't the last team in.

They were the last SEC team in, and if they were bent on having an ACC team then Bama was the next team up to move aside, again this is all hypothetical based on if they thought a strong OOC game carried serious weight, which it obviously didn’t.
