The SEC protects whichever team they view as giving the conference the best chance to win a championship. Alabama has gotten used to being that team. This year LSU is that team.

I wouldn’t say that. They threw a horrible flag in Fulton in the middle of the 4th quarter to resuscitate an Alabama drive that ended up leading to TD. If they don’t make that phantom call, LSU has the ball up by two scores with very little time left.
