To my surprise, I've found it easy to ignore the NFL. Having multiple options for entertainment and things to do outdoors help.

The NFL is not a sport, it's sports entertainment.

Refereeing is abysmal. Incompetent crew working Commanders Saints game Stopped the clock in error allowing Saints to score a TD when game should have ended. Just awful

It’s over exposed.

That's the answer and it's beginning to creep
in for me on the college level with NIL and transfer
portal , every game on tv and social media overkill.
Or, maybe I'm just getting old and time to lean back.

I remember when I’d get fired up for Ole Miss to be the Jefferson pilot game of the week. And if Ole Miss was on espn it meant we were in the top 25.
Other than that you either had to go to the game or listen on the radio.

There is no offseason anymore, they think having NFL in your face 24/7 is the best market strategy but it's numbing and exhausting.

Agree, and I’ve been a die hard Saints fan since I was 5 years old.

It’s constantly on and everywhere now.

Being on constantly now has made it less special to me.

Is this not the same for College football?

The NFL lost me when they started kneeling for the National Anthem. I got out of the habit of watching and never went back.

The defense is at an disadvantage and it gets worse almost every year. I like competitive games but they've boiled it down to 7on7. Football is shite and I've lost all interest in the NFL and slowly losing interest in CFB. Nil and unrestricted free agency is killing it for me.

QB play in the NFL has never been harder than it is right now.

Likely because the athletes on defense have remained the same while the players who are at the QB position aren't as skilled at passing as they have been in years past. QBs in 2024 are more athletic than they have ever been but they can't read defenses as well as their predecessors because shite has been dumbed down for them.

Baker just hung 40 points on LA Charger. 22 of 28 288 yards 4 TD

Yeah man Baker is so fun to watch. He leads the NFL in touchdowns despite not having his top 2 receivers the last few weeks though he got Mike Evans back now.

In a way, I like it. It's not just arena football. Defenses are playing well, and it's truly special to get points on the board. It feels like parity.

Yes, but it has less to do with the product on the field and more with the politics that has infused everything since BLM.

NEW YORK – Dec 12, 2024 – For the fourth consecutive year, the NFL and its 32 clubs will highlight the league’s steadfast commitment to advancing social justice during Weeks 15 and 16 of the regular season. Fans will enjoy game-day stadium activations and other moments that raise awareness about the positive impacts of this important work.

That shite is slowly going away thankfully. Used to be a year long thing, now we have a neatly packed 2 weeks of bullshite to get out of the way before the playoffs

now.....I've quit watching the Braves........Outside college football,

Same here. I used to follow ever pro league and every college sport. I gave up on all pro sports in the nineties. The Braves were the final pro straw after game 4 of the 96 World Series.

Now I’m just down to college football. The portal and NIL are pushing me away. Most Saturdays i only watch the Georgia game.

Actually the older I get the more I prefer it. I would rather watch grown men closer to my age play instead of a dumbass kids fresh out of high school.

College football is NFL Jr now and isn't what it used to be.

If we are going to do this money ball shite now, I would rather watch the more talented players

This. The NFL has its flaws but completely shits over CFB with the actual talent level and play.

NFL lost me when they allowed Indianapolis to keep the Colts name. It still should be the Baltimore Colts…
Indianapolis Colts? Really…They race cars there, not horses.
If a franchise moves they should have to change their nickname.
I will watch occasionally….Brees when the Saints were good…,our MS players through the years but that is about it. Certainly no where close to “must watch TV these days.”

Both of those stat facts are pretty uncommon things to happen.
