They just print whatever it seems.

They print what they want because there are no consequences. Hell they claimed Trump was a Russian Spy for ages and got away with it.

You find more truth in The National Enquirer

No matter what your feelings are on this situation, the New York Times (or really any corporate news/media) should not be your source of "journalism " or "information"

Does he have an alibi? If it wasn’t him which basketball player was it?

I suspect Joseph Goodman was the NYT's anonymous source.

Our university covered up Brandon Miller being at the scene until the hearing happened.

If it wasn't Spears, who was the unnamed passenger in the car?

Oh, it was Spears. Got it.

NYT is doubling down. They updated their story adding that Alabama says spears wasn’t in the car but they are still saying spears was in the car.

I definitely agree with your premise here, the NYT is especially lazy and woke when it comes to journalism.

But what would their motivation be for lying about this particular incident? What's the motive here?

I know you Bama fans will just say that it's to create drama or whatever, because you naturally assume that Alabama basketball is the center of the universe like any fan of a particular team would.

But why would a newspaper out of New York, with readers that couldn't give two shits about Alabama basketball, lie about this?

Same as al.com and the low-IQ ranters - clicks and attention - pure filth being pure filth.

Eh there are much bigger stories in the world that generate the clicks that NYT needs. There’s more incentive for Bama & Spears to cover up him being at the scene than there is for anyone to make up a lie about a walk-on who hasn’t logged a minute this season. Now that the school and family have refuted the claim NYT is either being burned by a source or the kid was actually there. There are too many people involved with this for it to be pure libel.

Because Alabama is the #1 seed in the dance with a possible #1 overall draft pick and the New York Times used to own the Tuscaloosa news..... Need anymore reasons?
