West Division
LSU
A&M
Texas
Oklahoma
Missouri
Arky
Ole Miss
Miss St
East Division
Bama
Auburn
Tennessee
Kentucky
Georgia
South Carolina
Florida
Play everyone in your division and rotate 2 from other division.
Play a power 5 team for 1 game
Play 2 rent a win teams

While I don't find this unreasonable, the geographical distance East to West is far greater compared to North to South. So for instance that's a long flight/drive from Texas to South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
I think the likely alignment will be East/West with OU, Texas and Missouri in the West and Alabama and Auburn in the East. This should create pretty balanced divisions over time.

Texas to the West and OU to the East. It's just that simple and everything else stays the same.

Keep the permanent cross division opponents but take away the LSU vs. UF game and make it LSU vs. Bama instead. UF's new permanent opponent can be Oklahoma and UGA's can be Texas.

The new SEC Conference Alignment
quote:
NORTH
quote:
SOUTH
Geography was not your strong subject, understood by all
Georgia, South Carolina and Ole Miss are all north of Bama
Swap Ole Miss for Alabama and you are correct and then the entire South Alignment will dominate the SEC
Another reason this will not happen is the North/South divide will cause racial backlash
Give it up as a bad thought
