This thread called for a heavyweight.

Yeah, I have no idea if that poster is reliable or not. But it's the first time I've seen specifics to this detail. That is why I posted it. That is really specific as to how they got players money. Someone is either really creative or it really happened. I'm not sure which is true but I have a feeling if this did happen, it will definitely come out and Auburn is royally fricked.

What is the name of the construction company?
Well the UCC Lien was filed under Cecil Newton and not the company. So I am still trying to locate the company name. It could be Jac and Associates, LLC but I believe that company has been dissolved.

According to the Ga Sec of State, the corporation that ran the church was dissolved 5/16/08. Therefore, he could be running everything as sole proprietorships.

It's been said on another thread, don't bring the Bleacher Report into this.

Why is the FBI involved?
If it turns out that it has nothing to do with the gambling/bank fraud investigation that is already well underway with Milton McGregor having already been arrested, it is likely an extortion investigation.
It could be that when Miss St said no to Cecil's request for money, he then said, "well if you don't, not only will my son commit elsewhere, but I will lie to the NCAA and claim that State tried to offer me money." That would fall under the federal crime of extortion.

This goes way beyond Cam. They say the FBI, while monitoring the Bingo mess in Montgomery and also investigating the misappropriation of TARP funds by Colonial Bank, uncovered many, many things. Such things include guaranteed winning slot machines for AU players at Milt’s (Colonial Board member, AU Booster) Casino, unmarked ATM cards issued to AU players from Colonial Bank (Bobby Lowder-AU Board Member and Booster; Pat Dye-Colonial Board member, AU employee and Booster), forgiven loans to families, friends, donors, etc.
If true, big time jail time, loss of SACS accreditation which means expulsion from the SEC, huge financial implications for AU, removal of Dye’s name from the field and so on.
Also, the AU President wanted to sit Cam last Saturday, but was overridden by Lowder, Dye, Jacobs, Rane and McGregor
Wow. Just. Wow. That would certainly explain the FBI...but why are they bothering interviewing Bond et al? Isn't that just insignificant at this point?

This seems highly unlikely, but who knows where all of this is going?
Seems more likely that MSU didn't give Cecil what he wanted, but AU boosters did come up with the money, hence the sudden change in commitment.

Thanks. Point well taken...insignificant wasn't the right word...more of a "bigger fish to fry" issue...

I am still interested in Born's take on Auburn flying players and family in at the cost of poor kids or something to that effect.
