I finished yesterday...and again today (about 10 more pages). Interesting read. I don't know about the money laundering theory, but it certainly sounds like the inmates are running the asylum over in Auburn.

I seriously doubt the FBI/NCAA reads the SEC Rant on Tigerdroppings.

That wasn't my point. If "amateur internet investigators" can find all of this and kind of make connections (a stretch I know), then I'm sure the real investigators can get to the bottom of this more accurately.

And like I said, "IF" these things are true...

I honestly have no idea what to think anymore. I think it is insane to think that Cam's dad soliciting payment would not make Cam ineligible...but I know the NCAA and the SEC does not want this stuff to spoil a football season and it wouldnt shock me for them to use the loophole defense to let it slide.

However the one thing that gets me is the presence of the FBI.

There really is no logical reason for them to be involved in this unless there is something large going on.

On the surface it is just small time football stupidity. If this is just Cecil asking for money from MSU...there really isnt a reason for the FBI to get involved at all. It's against NCAA rules to ask for money for Cam to play...but it isn't against the law is it? Above that...federal law? Even so this is totally small potatoes. Seems like something the FBI would walk right past since their is a governing body that can handle the issue. There doesn't seem to be a federal issue to be investigated in regard to Newton. That is the question I have for the "nothing going on here" Auburn folks...

Why is the FBI involved?

I shall be more clear...the question was for the Aubies who still seem to claim that nothing is going to happen and everything is fine...if that is so then...Auburn folks who think this is nothing...not people who have read this thread turned their eyes turned red...

Personally, I still believe there are 2 separate FBI investigations; one involves and revolves around Kenny Rogers and may or may not eventually involve Auburn athletics. The other is the thing with the lobbyist/legislators thing with the gambling. Again, may or not involve Auburn athletics. The third case involves Cam Newton's eligibility investigation and that is the one that the NCAA is involved in.

Just finished this thing and damn I am worn out.

Thanks to Newton/Auburn I have decided to re-examine my life's priorities.

I found myself, under the covers at midnight reading several pages on my phone, probably spent an hour under there, except having to come out for air. A grown man...I have reproduced twice mind you...I am responsible for directing these kid's life, and there I was, reading this incredible work by other people more pathetic than myself at midnight, under my covers...I assume trying to hide my pathetic behavior from my wife.

As StarkvilleTigerFan posted here, it could be interpreted as Cecil Newton was trying to "EXTORT" money from MSU. I don't know if extortion is a federal or state law, but that's an interesting way of looking at it. I personally think it would be overkill for the FBI to get involved in something so petty as this, but the real FBI connection is more along the lines of Milton McGregor, Colonial Bank, etc.

Not sure of Cam's mom's name but found this little piece of information for Newton Brokers on Federal Motor Carriers Web Site. Its listed to Lisa Newton in Forest Park GA. Trucking Co Type in Newton Brokers as the Legal Name and Georgia as the Home State. I cant get the link to post for the actual file.

Same here. I posted this same thing about 20 pages ago. I confess I'm addicted. there is a part of me that doesn't want this story to ever end, just continue to grow more layers and suspects. I need help.
