I'll be honest. I take what HT says with a grain of salt. He's a nice guy and he may even know someone that can tell him certain info, but mainly he just recaps what has already been speculated ad nauseum. That little nugget got thrown out there because people were hammering him for not posting anything new.

People are hungry for any news they can get and they all want the whole story now. I think he goes to far to try and satisfy the masses and it gets him in trouble. It's just doesn't look like it's going to happen that way. This shite is going to take a while to sort out if there is some serious wrong-doing.

Yes, this is the same Paul Davis. Davis is a bit of an odd bird, he used to (and may still I don't know) write for the Opelika-Auburn News. I know he wrote for them in the late 90s and early 2000s when I was a student. He was one of Lowder's laudest critics, and would often write scathing op-ed pieces on him. He also seemed to sometimes cross over into the paranoid in some of his claims. On at least one occasion, if not more, he claimed that Lowder and his "cronies" had tapped his phone and left sniper bullets in his mailbox or on his doorstep as a warning to back off.

Do you understand how the board of trustees works? The board members are appointed by the governor and confirmed by the state legislature, much like cabinet positions in the federal government. The BoT then makes the decisions on hiring the University President, Atheltic Director, etc. It's not like Auburn people are praising Lowder or Franklin, but as I said in an earlier post, until their friends and cohorts in Montgomery are removed from power, there is nothing Auburn can do.

I imagine Terry Bowden had to have been fearing for his life at some point. It is clear now why he has never gone back to coaching after that experience.
