This is one of the great threads all time on here...that is all.
You could take this thread alone and write a screenplay for a movie that would be legendary.
Or, write a book.
If you live in Alabama and know what has happened here the past few years between MacGregor, Lowder, Auburn, Jetgate, Tuberville, Larry Langford, and now Cam Newton, and you are able to tie the whole thing together in a way that impacts the BCS national title - oh. my. goodness.
They'll be talking about this for years. With the Colonial Bank failure, you can even bring in the financial crisis and with Victoryland, you have gambling interests.
Mindblowing.

I think the FBI is meeting with Rogers but I don't really expect anything news worthy from that unless they arrest him.
i wouldn't think anything AU related would come out of a meeting with Rogers. He has ties to MSU, but absolutely nothing to do with AU (unless there's a connection that hasn't been mentioned).
oh well. i can't figure if this slow leak and ominous prediction makes it more exciting or not; it's giving me the Football News version of blueballs.

I agree Tuck. Rogers admitted to Joe Schad that if they investigated his phone records, they may actually discover he had prior conversations with people at Auburn, just not Cam Newton related.
As shady as Rogers is, he could have been invovled in getting other players to Aub.

ehh. i hadn't seen or heard of any, so i assumed there wasn't one.
if Rogers does have a connection to Au, i figured it would have been mentioned many, many times by now.

Been reading this thread since yesterday afternoon. Had no idea it would absolutely EXPLODE like this.
Even if none of this is true it's definitely got some great story points in it.
Hell even 105.5 in B'ham picked it up and cited this as the source of the McGregor and Auburn link.

quote:Correct. Also, if you listen to the Ian Fitzsimmons interview with Rogers, Ian asked him about having contact with Auburn and Rogers reply was something to the effect of, "in regard to Cam Newton? No." I can't remember how it was phrased but it did make me kind of go...'hmmm..'

Just wanted to post in this legendary thread so one day I can show my grandkids and say, "I was there."

rogers had a son who was recruited to play RB out of vestavia... he's at juco now, and was committed to texas tech up until a couple days ago... it wouldn't surprise me if a coach kept in contact with rogers... we need RBs after all.

I recall that...
as an attorney, the next question logically should have been whether he had contact with auburn for any other reason pertaining to athletics...

I would think the logical follow up questions would be
a) who at auburn were you/are you in contact with?
b) what is the nature of your discussions/relationships with your contacts at auburn
c) how long have you had these relationship and hwo did it begin.

It's not really supposed to come out tomorrow. I think people just assume that because(from what I hear) that's when the FBI is supposed to meet with Rogers or Bond or whichever
