Do you consider Louisiana part of the US?

I won't lie. I hope your football program gets the book thrown at it if all this shite is true. But I hope Lowder goes to federal pound me in the arse prison and becomes Leroy's girlfriend if he compromised the educational institution.
If Lowder was a big part in any problems with the AD I'll be pissed. If there is a scandal he is in the middle of that implicates AU as a university I will be irate - and I won't be the only one. I am talking torches and pitchforks type shite.

I know it hurts and you are a great poster but alabama will know what is going on before Auburn does.
Slam Dunk.

I think when the story broke about Newton the FBI decided it was time to let it be known they were getting involved because they had conversations between these guys talking about Newton. I don't think the FBI is involved because of the Newton allegations.
However, IF somehow this is all linked together....my goodness I can't even imagine what I would be thinking if I were and Auburn grad or fan.

the Aubies are coming out of the woodwork recently. too many Oct/Nov registered posters around here these days.

I think we are all reaching way too far here. It is very plausible that the FBI became involved in this incidentally through wiretaps on boosters involved in the state gambling investigation, but the idea that these guys were stealing from Auburn does not fly.

Basically what he's saying is that Lowder could have been attempting to illegally move money out of the bank. When you're an owner/CEO/Chairman/whatever of a company, you can't just sell your stock. You have to announce that you're doing it in advance, get permission, etc. I don't remember if it was Lehman or Bear Stearns, but the CEO had to sit there and watch 95% of his net worth disappear in front of his own eyes, because he wasn't allowed to sell his shares. So legally, Lowder wasn't allowed to sell his banking stock. Any money he got from Colonial would have been illegally obtained. This is where the whole money laundering angle comes from. It's odd that he is still in charge of the finances at Auburn.
Thanks for typing all that for me.

no way monti, all is fair game in this thread.
for all we know, they were laundering money for mexican drug cartels and somehow chizik and newton are involved.

moving your net worth from the ownership of a failing bank to an, essentially, unwatched 501c3 could be a good method of money laundering....assuming you could get it out somehow

I really am just asking, because I have no idea about any of these guys nor things happening in Alabama. Just what I'm reading today.
Only time I've ever been to that state is driving through Mobile to get to Panama City.

I would not be surprised to see the Feds step in and take over Auburn just like they took over his banks.
Now that the feds control all student loans and the federal funding the school gets, they may well do that.

Just for the record, I absolutely made that up just to see what it would be by the time it went a few more pages. People are crazy and will believe anything.

Maybe there is nothing to all of this. Cecil probly got a loan from Colonial bank cause Pat Dye said he was good for it.

Wouldn`t someone be obligated to tell students this.
In a sick way, this all makes sense. I don`t understand why Lowder is still involved with our university at all. I hoped the Pres n school would distance themselves since he has no money and only screwed things up. Wasn`t colonial bank being investigated by the SEC? I`m not too current with Alabama news.

Then it was revealed that Pat Dye himself had been caught on tape helping the same player, Eric Ramsey, obtain a loan from Colonial Bank, which was owned by Auburn benefactor and future Board of Trustee member Bobby Lowder.
