Not gonna lie, we had plenty of calls go our way in 2010
-Clemson`s long snapper getting the illegal procedure and then they missed the next kick. Not a bad call, starting in HS I know you can`t pick up the ball, but still, I`d be pissed if I was a Clemson fan. LINK

-Arky fans still blame the refs for this game. Not down

Dyers run against Oregon. Honestly, when I watch it today, I still say wtf. LINK

I think they`ll be better than last year. Can`t ever say they are going to suprise anyone because they are always ranked so high in the preseason. Anytime you`ve got a qb who can win the game for ya and a RB like IC, your going to be competitive with every team. I don`t know, maybe the last few years they`ve just been missing a few pieces and lacked leadership. Get the feeling that arron murray is a hit or miss, Dawg fans will say hes a competition hungry gunslinger but qbs like that usually don`t win rings unless they have a nasty defense.
It made us a different team, we seemed to do fine in 2009 with chris todd. I don`t understand what you are trying to argue? Would texas of lost if Dareus didn`t knock colt mccoy out? Did Grizzly Adams have a beard?

Anyways your trying to have a debate about a Chris Low article...tsk tsk
Can`t argue with stupid. Bammers have trouble coping... There train of thought goes...Cam sucked when he was at Auburn but now hes gone...we would of been .500 without him.
He`s gotta pump the Big 12 while he still has a chance too. Kansas State and Baylor have gotten off to unusually good starts but that will soon turn to shite. OSU will finish the season ranked 10-15th and OU will be the only big 12 team left in the top 10.

SEC is kind of disappointing to the rest of the nation since MSU, USC, UT, and UF have all underachieved thus far. Big 10 sucks and the Pac 12 is probably closest to the Big 12 for second best conference IMO.

He peppered Roe Lach with a flurry of questions about the N.C.A.A.’s investigation into Cam Newton and why the N.C.A.A. had not publicly announced that the investigation was over. Chizik complained that the inquiry’s open-ended nature had hurt Auburn’s recruiting and he followed up at least three times, leading to a testy exchange.

“You’ll know when we’re finished,” Roe Lach told Chizik, according to several coaches who were at the meeting. “And we’re not finished.”

Both the N.C.A.A. and Auburn acknowledged last year that Newton’s father, Cecil, had offered his son’s services to Mississippi State for $180,000. Cam Newton told the N.C.A.A. that he had no knowledge of the proposed transaction. Soon after, in a controversial decision, the N.C.A.A. declared him eligible to play the rest of the season. He went on to lead Auburn to the national title and win the Heisman Trophy. He now awaits his new role as quarterback for the Carolina Panthers.

ok.....? Breaking news guess I haven`t watched sportcenter let alone an Auburn game all year.

quote:

While Chizik has said that he and Auburn did not break any rules in recruiting Newton, Roe Lach made it clear that the N.C.A.A. is not done investigating.

Yeah we got it. They mean BUSINESS

quote:

“Obviously, I think that she was serious, and I obviously thought it was a good message, because you could tell that she and they are serious about what they’re doing and trying to do what they have to do to clean up some of the bad elements in college athletics,” said Vanderbilt Coach Kevin Stallings, one of four SEC basketball coaches who confirmed the exchange.

Yeah thanks for the input bro. Pretty intriguing quote. You got a conference where the best bball coaches are Bruce Pearl and John Calipari and also where the top football teams always seem to be under investigation. Lane Kiffen broke into the SEC, did his thang. vols fans click here

quote:

The exchange between Chizik and Roe Lach provided another example of the N.C.A.A.’s more vigorous emphasis on enforcement. The N.C.A.A. has increased and restructured its enforcement staff recently in an attempt to better handle its caseload.

Solid example of the SEC office changing its rules and going HAM on a school. Pretty sure it`s dirty from the top down, after all, its a culture not a sport. No way a NY times writer is going to break the story.

quote:

“It was obvious they were trying to be thorough,” said Stallings, who was with other basketball coaches at a recruiting event. “It was obvious they wanted everyone to know that there’s a more diligent pursuit than there’s been in the past. The staff is bigger and more aggressive. I thought that her message was a good one.”

Theres more people asking slightly better questions... Good strategy.

quote:

Mississippi’s basketball coach, Andy Kennedy, said that he believed Chizik “was trying to get some finality to when the process was over, and it was an interesting debate, to say the least. I think the format of the meeting was set up to be generally about the lay of the land going forward,” Kennedy continued. “When he got into specific questions regarding their situation, I think we were all sitting back saying, ‘I didn’t know that we were going here.’

Translation: When are you gonna give up. You won`t answer my phone calls, texts, emails, nuthin. You got no power.

On another note, quit bein bitches because its the offseason. Nobody`s getting in trouble in the SEC. The Vols will lose a few scholarships and everything else will remain the same. The Willie Lyles n Calloway stories will keep coming to entertain us during the dead season. Same crazy epicness willl happen on the field come fall. Recruiting and college athletics is what it is. The media picking up on it won`t change anything other than creating more conversation. The SECR has become pretty terrible lately. Too many retards listening to finebaum and praying for the apocalypse.
I don`t understand who you guys want the AU AD to use. Coaches and athletic admins need them to do mundane office work and help out with tours and hosting. Players who host athletes usually show them around after hours and provide a place for them to stay. The tigerettes take over during games and help answer questions. If Brooks has pics of players/recruits partying with Tigerettes it`d be a different story, but he doesn`t.

I get that any dirt on AU will be taken seriously because of all of our other shite, but this is a waste of time. But thats my opinion, ya`ll can continue your investigation. SBB got all the hits he needed to maintain his shitty existence and AU fans are yawning or continuing their pointless fight to convince their rivals that they`re clean. Same shite, different day.
Theres no limit on hours a student employee can work at Auburn. I kids who work at the university and get 10-30 hours a week throughout the year.

Everyones really reaching here. These girls are cute, but they don`t make anyone say damn. Even if I was in HS I wouldn`t be impressed. And you really don`t want a bunch of 18-22 year old dudes showing the recruits around.

I duno about 125 hours in 2 weeks, but I`m sure they rack them up on big game/recruiting weekends.

re: AU fans question on 2012 QB

Pike rushed for 1400 yds against mediocre high school talent. I think he`ll do fine, but he`s not going to be much of a dual threat. Hes not much faster than Trotter, but he`s going to be bigger, stronger etc. He`ll have no problem lowering his shoulder for a few yards.

Au is not charging him with anything. The DA is charging him on behalf of the state.

I know, sorry for my phrasing. AU is the victim here and they can only tell the DA if they approve of a plea deal. They`re obviously going to let this drag out a bit so I`m assuming they want jail time. IMO he deserves it bc he`s still ignorant and believes football is the only thing that matters.
How is this 8 pages? I don`t get why AU fans are getting worked up about this AND I don`t get why others are sticking up for the weirdo. AU is going to charge him with everything they can, he`ll prob get 6 months or house arrest. Who cares if he goes to jail? All he was doin when he was free was listening to finebaum, pumpin out lil updykes as if he was creating his own inbred army, and poisoning my oaks. BTW, he`s prob still going to call into finebaum from jail.

My hopes regarding the family is that this lawsuit ISN'T about the money and instead will be a suit that will help prevent future deaths. I have a glimmer of hope about that being that we were told back in January it would be a $10 million suit and now there is no dollar amount listed.

So I`m now I`m gonna have to watch "Make sure you don`t have hereditary abnormalities before you play the foosball" PSAs.
It was probably a written arrest. Its usually up to the officers discretion whether to book him. Cop may have done this if he suspected it to be stolen or if OMAC was swaggin too hard. My buddy got one for driving a razor around auburn at 3am without a tag or a license on him.
shite like this brings the worst out of people. Lawyers swoop in and try to capitalize on it. They`ll stir up a bunch of press, go on some talk shows, and all the while putting more pressure on OM to settle. Its a lose/lose for OM. Even if they win the court battle, they lose overall. shite like this makes me sick.

Y'all thought the same thing when y'all went up 24-0 as well.

I`m a bit disappointed with O.Macs effort here. A traffic arrest? He should of at least pulled a Maurice Clarett on the cops.
I`m gonna wait for details. He drives a baby blue 300 on 24s normally and it definitely has a tag. Sounds like he was borrowing a car and left his wallet at home. Guessing it was a written arrest.

Ha I didn`t know anyone else knew about this movie. One of my teammates dad is a cameraman. He does the superbowl every year and works (I duno if its still on) on friday night lights. He helped film the thing and tried to get some of us to fly whereever to be in it. His son was the only one who did it and actually got a few lines. I didn`t go with the team to go see it, but apparently he walks into the locker room and throws his helmet down and says something like "I`m sick of this." We gave him shite the rest of the season.

Yeah I don`t get why bammers are pissed. I figured the ginger was just doing this bc its a great opportunity/experience. The NFL doesn`t like guys who don`t count on football being their whole life. The ging has plenty of other opportunities.
