Head a better start then Fulmer but canned himself.

Oh, you forgot one HUGE thing. $$$ We have a lot of it and people just so happen to love it because you'll be a rich millionaire even if you can't hack it in the SEC.

You would be. He won zero titles. His biggest win was against a 10-2 LSU team. Congrats on reaching for the stars.

meh. he happened to be coaching when LSU, Bama and Cam were buzzsaws. I'm happy with 10 wins a year.

The talking heads have already started talking about the pac12 winning their ooc games this weekend and how Arky lost to LaMo

All Ole Miss needs to do is win this weekend, and there will never again be any demand for the Longhorn Network.

Thanks for validating my theory.

Yes, you are Right that, Bobby was a good/decent coach.....are you saying the next coach will be better than Bobby?

Would not someone better than Bobby go somewhere that they have a chance to be successful?

So many teams in this conference and nation would kill for a 10 win season, ha.

Petrino took us from complete shite to the Sugar Bowl in 3 years.

He certainly made the job look easier than previously thought. Example- when Nutt left everyone said we were stupid to fire him because winning double digit games year after year wasnt possible at arkansas

The reason ULM loss looks bad bc it makes it look like a big time rebuilding job, something it might not have looked like if we kept together with a 9-3 season

Bobby Petrino averaged 8.25 wins a year over his career at Arkansas, the cupboard is obviously bare and A&M will now pull many recruits that would have been Arky prospects before they joined the SEC. No?

by that rationale the next coach will have a chance to sell Missouri kids that we'll play a game in their home state every other year, something BP couldn't do.

see I can play that game too

If I were Arkansas, I would go after Art Briles.

Why?

1. He's an a-hole. We've already established that is the type of coach you need. (see Petrino, Bobby)

2. He knows how to coach an offense. He took a player that most schools recruited as a safety and made him the Heisman winner and the #2 pick in the draft.

3. He has ties to Texas high schools from his time at Houston and Baylor.

4. He knows how to do more with less. (see Baylor and Houston)

At this point I think Briles and Strong are the two realistic leading candidates

I disagree with your premise.

Yes Arkansas is probably second-tier SEC and they look really pathetic this week. It's also easy to make fun of them because it's easy to make fun of their state. However, they've pieced together a pretty good record over the past ten years in the most dominant conference in America. They certainly look better than Tennessee and on even-footing with Georgia during that time span.

As well, every team lays down a stinker from time to time. Let's not act as if this has never happened to any SEC team before.

A lot of football coaches would jump at the shot to coach Arkansas. To get into the SEC with a second-tier team (not entry-level) is an opportunity a lot of people will seize.

What would Briles have to gain by coming to Fayetteville at hismage? He has it good now ....real good and points 2 and 3 as previously listed mean succeeds like he has now is a given.

Hey, I admit I could be wrong, but why would a coach that has a chance to win their conference take a job where they don't?
