Their athletic department being bankrupt hasn't helped their situation for the last while.

Idiot. Do some research. We are still one of the top money makers.

We also have several billionaire alumni who pad our pockets.

Bankrupt?

Our financial circumstances have placed us in need of your help more than ever," he wrote.

Tennessee, which had seven home games in the 2018 season, netted $29 million from football ticket sales and $26.3 million from contributions, which includes the required donation tied to most season-ticket purchases.

Fulmer asked season-ticket holders to convert their football ticket and donation dollars to a "philanthropic gift" to The Tennessee Fund even if the ticket holder does not attend a game this fall. He emphasized fans will get a tax deduction as well as "the pride of knowing you’re making a tangible impact in support of our young men and women."

Kansas should have NEVER fired Mangino. Only coach to ever have Kansas relevant.

apparently they don't donate to you guys or your former AD wouldn't be putting his hat out begging for season ticket holders to donate.

No wonder you clowns have been irrelevant for 20+ years.

They just didn't want to lose revenue that was already in the coffers.

You obviously don't have a clue about football or finance.

They didn't beg ticket holders to donate. They gave us three options.

A. Donate all ticket and donation money.
B. Roll the ticket money and donate the the donation.
C. Roll both ticket and donation.

I took B.

Any program can fall - even alabama, let alone auburn. Who in the 90s predicted Nebraska football would become the state that it is today?

The odds on Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Florida all failing in the same year that Tennessee rises from a .500 level of performance against Vanderbilt is statistically 0.

Horrendous financial situation. As many titles as Bama has won and LSU 2019 pumping money back into the conference you poors should be able to upgrade Neyland and that juco baseball field, but na.

You just hate to see it.

Thus why you have to hire trash like Jones, Conehead and your current Marshmallow with legs.

You can't afford a real coach.

In the combined seasons of 2017, 2018 and 2019, Clemson had as many SEC wins as Tennessee did. (7)

This is incredible and sad all at once.

Or just incredibly sad. Either one

If perennial top 10 UGA is in a rut, safe to say you think the Vols are in a rut the size of the grand canyon?

$91m revenue sounds like alot, now subtract the annual buyouts being paid to butch and... and... are y'all paying Pruitt's buyout yet or still paying lawyers to push that out further?

This argument doesn’t make a lot of sense considering Tennessee currently has the 3rd highest paid basketball coach in the nation and highest paid baseball coach.

You can question whether these are good investments but they can certainly afford to pay any coach they want if they are paying Rick Barnes $6 million a year.
