Our pitching did not develop over the year, still a threat but not the match up potential I was hoping for.

thought LSU was #1 going into 2009 postseason

LSU plays too many cupcakes to get a 1 seed

1 bad inning beat us. We made some uncharacteristic errors and mental mistakes that game in 1 inning that costed some unearned runs. Outside of 1 or 2 innings that game Tennessee handled Texas for majority of the game.
That's baseball, dude. OU beat us in the Big 12 championship 8-1, with all 8 runs coming in the third inning. And there is zero chance I would ever argue "well, if you take away that one inning, we're conference champions!"

Part of the game.

If you take away the last two innings of the Tennessee vs. Kentucky semifinal, then Tennessee was no better than a team that failed to make regionals...

Sarcasm, right? They have one of the easiest draws to the CWS. Pretty much the entire field of eight in the Austin, and Greeneville regionals is mid-majors
One of those mid-majors won the CWS in 2016 as a 4-seed in a regional.

ECU is currently competing to get to their 4th super regional in 6 complete seasons.

If DBU gets an out sooner than they did in the 7th inning of game 3 of their super last year, they're a team in Omaha in 2021.

Texas probably doesn't have the most brutal draw of the field, but if you've ever watched college baseball postseason before, you should know that anything is far from a cakewalk.

College baseball is not college football.

But the talent is there to beat us. Honestly, I want to avoid the Big 12 teams if possible. Lots of talent there.

Pork, we tried to tel Orange Mustard that all year, you have to be lucky and playing your best at the very end. Nobody knows this better than you guys and Mississippi State fans. They had 3 damn MLB Allstate players on one team, were on cruise control and up what was 3 or 5 in 6th or 7th on Stanford when suddenly the baseball Gods abandon them, couldn’t get a strike call and lost like 9 to 8 and were beyond stunned. I felt your pain and that poor kid and will not go over that again

PS: That Texas vs Tennessee potential matchup in Game 1 of the CWS is looking mighty juicy right now..

If that were to happen, I’m really not sure who I would pull for. In any other scenario it would be for anyone playing tu except buckeye. But Tennessee are such dooshers that I’m not sure.

Agreed.. and I was actually hoping for that matchup to see who people hated more lol

Either way.. this streak stays in tact. You guys are potentially going to be the highest seed alive in Omaha.. No pressure. ??

You were so sure about Tennessee’s ticket being punched too. There was no doubt in any of your minds. Welcome to baseball btw, hopefully Tony Mainieri doesn’t keep getting your hopes up by beating up on a weak schedule and winning the SEC tourney that no good teams care about
