Also, I think it's a play on the "Yammer Jammer, Yellow Hammer, give'em hell Alabama" The only way to truly make it rhyme is with the redneck pronunciation of the word, "Alabammer".
There are no better insults than Bammer and Gump IMO. They are GOLD. No other school has an effective slur that matches the two thrown at us.
ETA: We are the insult receiving national champions IMO.
