Pretend Reid wasn't even there.

If Bama's tight end jumps up, catches the ball, comes down with it, holding the ball when he hits the ground, but the jar from the ground knocks the ball loose, it is an incomplete pass.

This ball never touched the ground though...

Obvious interception is obvious.

Only the most crimson of goggles can see it any other way.

the non call on the dirty hit on Kirkpatrick

While it was ill concieved and I can understand your view, I don't think it was intentional or dirty. He looks to be trying to get his arm in front of Dre ( I know that is questionable also) and he just didn't realize how quick Dre was and how out of position he was, split second reaction to getting beat and he made a poor one.

Yes I do believe a personal foul should have been called regardless.

I don't think what the penalty was would have mattered because I believe it was a half the distance penalty (might be wrong) but half the distance is the same no matter what the actual penalty is.

Int or not...does it really matter? Bama had all the chances they could have asked for to win the game. The Reed int play should never have mattered one way or the other.

Reed made a fantastic play for the ball. Maze under threw it and Williams did not make certain there could be no question. From a play "continuation" stand point, it was an Int.

Both teams played a great game. The hitting was huge. Congrats to LSU!

I agree with the guy that said if it had been ruled a catch then it wouldn't have been overturned.

It would have been overturned had they ruled it a catch. They said replay confirmed the call which means they clearly saw an interception.

I really try hard not to bash Verne alot, because I actually find him to be likeable, but what the hell was that "oh no!" about? Did he have money on the game or something?

Sorry, didn't mean to

Carry on.

You're blind. He had control... in the air.
Then he lost control when Reid put a hand on the ball. Then he hit the ground while bobbling and Reid wrestled it away.

I am as objective as they come, and you are full of shite. The ball was moving before he hit the ground

Couldn't see it that well from the stands, but looking at the pics people have posted it looks like the right call was made.

You must watch a replay. He never had control......or was that an interception by PP?

Meh, it doesn't matter. I'm more mad about the non call on the dirty hit on Kirkpatrick. It looked like they didn't even give the guy a personal foul? I couldn't hear the ref's explanation for all the booing

It was a stupid hold from a player much smaller than the other. Bad play but not intentional or warranting a personal foul….

No.

1.) Williams had initial control.
2.) Williams loss control (due to Reid) on the way down.
3.) Both Williams and Reid did not have control on the ground.
4.) Reid gained control on the ground.
5.) Interception by Reid.

Your TE did not have control of the ball when going down to the ground.

I think the right call was made, but I'll say this. If it's called a catch on the field, I wouldn't have seen it getting overturned.
