Daylight savings does weird things to the brain

I'm going with this as an explanation.
quote:

Notice that I'm not talking about the toilet seat, or clipping toenails. I'm talking about real identifying qualifiers. Think a harley guy who's wife makes him sell his bike after they're married. Or a big sports fan who gives up his season tickets because she doesn't like going to the games anymore, when she went to every game with him when they were married. I'm talking about altering more than just hygiene habits or doing chores. Those things always require give and take whenever two or more people are living together. I am talking about women who really want to change their man's personality and hobbies, the things that make him who he is.

Then we're in agreement then. I said a few posts ago that the big things take compromise.
quote:

I think he's more getting at the idea that the contents of the package were known prior to purchase, so bitching about how much it annoys you seems asinine.

That's the thing. I'm not talking about bitching. I'm talking about your SO mentions something that she would love to see changed and you do it because it costs you nothing and would mean the world to her.

I'll admit, it's hard to bring up a grievance without making it sound like bitching and it's easy to interpret an honest request as bitching, and I'd be lying I said I wasn't guilty of doing both occasionally.
quote:

Petty assed shite that NEWLY bothers me is quite obviously MY problem, not the problem of the other parties in my life who had nothing to do with my revised version of annoying

Understood. I guess we'll just agree to disagree. I see it as I'm here for her and she's here for me. So we help each other with our problems regardless of where they reside.

quote:

Depends on what it is

Definitely. I'm not talking about become a Muslim or selling the house and living off the grid. Just the small things.
quote:

Then they aren't a big deal. If they ever become one, that's your personality failing.

So you're level of tolerance for everything/act/trait that you have ever experienced has been EXACTLY the same your entire adult life?

From posts that you've made in the past, I got the impression that you were north of 40 so I find this hard to believe.

quote:

Tell me sure. And, I'm a pretty nice guy. I'm probably going to try and adjust.

Well then I think we agree then. I think

quote:

But, I'm also an adult and probably didn't start whatever the "problem" is yesterday. So, I may not change and it isn't THAT big a fricking deal!

I mean, if you make an effort I think that's the important thing. But if you just say flat out "you knew about this already so I have no obligation to change", that just seems unnecessarily rigid.
quote:

I'm good with how I am

Seems that way.

Good luck
quote:

In some cases, that shite doesn't come out until after marriage (granted, I've never been married). Certain things go unnoticed until you live together for example. Suddenly your realize they leave the lid half way off everything in the fridge, and it drives you nuts. Then you make the choice of whether you're okay with it or not. If you say "okay, I can deal" after the discovery, then your point is valid. However, small things can grind away at someone, and they should be able to voice their annoyance without it being a big deal.

This. All this.

Yeah, you date for 2-3 years and maybe you tolerate some things, or don't bring them up because they don't seem like a big deal.

But what about 10 years later? 20? After the stresses of kids, career, etc mount? Maybe those toe nail clippings become a sore spot.

I prefer that my wife tell me what bugs her. Most of the time, it's stuff that costs me little effort to change and makes a huge difference to her (I was a serial half-lid person  )

And if it is a big deal, we compromise. People change, preferences change, so should the parameters of the relationship.
quote:

I'll be blunt. If a woman is totally into you, she does not give a frick where you clip your nails. If she's sharpshooting that shite, she ain't into you.

Eh....I dunno man. Everyone, men and women has one outlier pet peeve.

At some point, she has to start trusting that she can share things with you that bug her without you taking it the wrong way, and vice versa.
quote:

he doesn't give a frick what you think, man. take him or leave him.

Seems that way...I guess I'll just wish him the best of luck in his social life

Hammertime

Don't take this as an attack, because it's really not. The more I read your posts, the more I feel you could benefit from some counseling.
quote:

I didn't say it should be legal genius, I said people are going to regret it being legal. Where do you think ghetto people get money these days besides welfare.......they slang weed! When weed is legal and corporations take it over where are the ghetto people going to get money? Well...they are either going to rob your nice white neighborhood or take your $ in the form of taxes.

Also, we SHOULD need less prisons, prison guards, attorneys, police, border patrol, IRS, parole officers etc but we aren't going to let that happen. We will have just as many and they are going harassing white middle class people that don't do shite wrong during their free time.

Those are just a couple of reasons. The additional $ we make from taxes aren't going to come anywhere near making up from the net loss in our economy you retard.

I always thought she was pretty good. Didn't even know her contract didn't get renewed initially.

Article says she won't be working with the #1 crew (Aikmen and the other guy). Fox basically replaced her with eye candy (Erin Andrews). She should tell them to go frick themselves.
I watched that a couple of times and still don't quite understand what happened....it looked like the chick that took the charge started talking shite to someone completely uninvolved and then the melee follows
quote:

LSU will welcome him. No racism down here.

quote:

Of course he does

This is literally the first thought that came into my head, I shite you not.
The three days after Jesus' crucifixion. A little bit of clarity on what happened that day would sure be nice.

ETA: dammit...was way late with this

If you were an SAE at OU and graduate this may, do you put it on your resume??

I say yeah. Especially if you spell out the full name.

This will all be forgotten in a week or two, and rightfully so. There really isn't anything more to do about this and I'm going to assume that most SAEs are good dudes.
quote:

What in the actual frick? I have been following this thread since this morning. Yes, certain people have been calling for action.

Well I'll take your word for it then. I haven't read anything like that but I haven't read everything in this thread.
quote:

really? Can a public university espouse an official religion?

I probably should have fleshed out my thought a little more.

Students do not have the same relationship to their university that the U.S citizens have with the federal government. There is no need to protect the rights of students expressing thoughts becuase the university can't use force to stop them. In that sense, yes, it is like saying Lockheed Martin should be bound by the first amendment.
quote:

What is the association of OU to the state? Again, public universities using speech restrictions is a murky, dangerous road.

That's one hell of a stretch in logic.

Public universities aren't gov entities any more than Lockheed Martin is.
