Long's biggest achievement has been hiring Petrino. I think you guys underestimate how much Petrino is loved here. Sure, this dampens it. But he's our motherfricker.

I don't think you understand how state jobs work. Now this girl's career and marriage are fricked. Bitches will go crazy with the EEOC in these matters. Administrative leave says a lot. Long doesn't want Petrino anywhere near the department to try and sway opinion. I don't give a damn if he is undefeated and shits golden eggs, she is calling the shots right now. fricking a subordinate is never smart. A lawsuit from her can cost this university waaaaay more than losing Petrino

ETA: I have seen well beloved and respected doctors who made UMMC tons of money shitcanned because they couldn't keep their promises to all the subordinates they were fricking. And they all lost their jobs and the chicks stayed.

It will be shown that it would have been better for UA to have bit the bullet and shite canned Bobby P tonite.
If it goes for a week the FB program will be hurt, and Coach Fran can be had....

Alahunter has a point.

You have 2 university employees engaged in an inappropriate relationship. That has to be frowned upon.

Dorrell can't be fired because the reason for her being fired would fall over Petrino too. So then you get into a shite storm about favoritism or sexism and most likely a lawsuit. And I can't see how they keep Dorrell in her current job.

Long has to do review to conclude if Petrino can be trusted to continue being the coach. Long has not thought about insurance issues. doesn't know if Doral was injured. She told him she was not. Long will finish review before deciding if Petrino's job is in danger. Petrino has never talked about leaving the program. Doesn't know about the Houston Nutt details.

What may hang him is hiring his mistress to a coveted job in the department. Nepotism, cronyism, whatever you want to call it, that will be frowned on by the University. The personnel matters go above the athletic department. It's a huge black eye for the University, and will impact his ability to do part of his job (recruiting) effectively.

What Long isn't saying is.....this happened tonight, need to review his employment contract with the lawyers tomorrow and make sure we won't have to pay big dollars to let him go.

I didn't listen to the press conference. What all was said? Is BP definitely hitting it?

I think the AD Long seems to be doing the right thing, really waiting till more gets out. I don't have any issues with a temporary Admin. leave (might be good for BP's sake for now too). I like the way he's gone about this based on what's been discussed at the PC.

I underestimated how pissed Long would be. He handled that presser well but you could tell he was really upset about this.
