No grilling or music allowed.

Now that's what I call tailgating.

What was so unique about it? Unless it’s changed since 2003 when we beat Eli and company, it is just a field surrounded by trees with a bunch of tents. Nothing special in my eyes.
Sure, the women were beautiful but that’s the SEC.

Has it changed since you visited 21 years ago? The answer is yes.

Your best bet is to find some GA fans in the RV lots. They are at south campus rec and the intramural fields. See if you can network and find a GA tent. Hang out with them till about an hour before the game. Then make your way to the grove to check it out to say you've been there. That's what we did as LSU fans during the undefeated season National Championship year.

No music
No open flames/grills/smokers/etc
No open containers unless you hide it like you're a degenerate southern baptist
Catered food
Tent chandeliers
And a bunch of self entitled douches who havent won a god damn thing in football

So no, its still the same.

I have.
We hung around an Ole Miss tailgate for a while because we happened to meet an Ole Miss friend from home who had a big set up on the Grove, but other than that, I didn’t find the locals very hospitable to visitors.

True, it’s not everyday you see pretentious rich folks eating bland finger sandwiches under a chandelier

The Grove: $30,000 millionaires packed into the world's largest outdoor gay bar. Much less awkward than Aggies though.

There has never been anything remotely special about The Grove, Ole Miss, or anything else there.

The sports media has pushed everything they think is exceptional about Ole Miss down everyone's throats for decades now.

Who has visited the Grove? I have a group of 8 going Saturday and we want to tailgate. We don't want to set up a tent, just bring a wagon and some chairs with light food and adult beverages. Is this possible? Are we likely to find Ole Miss fans who will let us tailgate with them?
The grove is like ants in an ant pile. You won't be able to tailgate the same as you would in Athens or Baton Rouge. Alcohol will need to be in a red cup. You can't cook food out there either. Food is all catered in. Won't have much room to even throw a football if you have kids.

Luckily I went with some Ole Miss people a few years ago that had their spot already reserved, but otherwise I would have been miserable. Just my 2 cents.

Bought a tent multiple times as a visiting fan in the Grove. No issues whatsoever. Easy, just have food and drink setups delivered, bring your alcohol and pay for the tv to be set up. Fun times. Don’t stay away bc of what’s said on here, but don’t just show up thinking people will adopt you

I mean, if sexual favors are expected, it'd be rude of me as a visitor, to not show a Mississippi woman a good time.

I haven't been since 2013 but me and my group had a great time. I would just try to strike up a conversation with some Ole Miss fans, I would bet they would let your group tailgate with them.

1. Nearly impossible to get a spot unless you are early and even then you will likely steal someone's spot. 2. Make sure your alcohol is in plastic cups. The cops love making visitors pour out their alcohol.
