Most rivalries in the SEC started before the SEC existed. So, your thread title isn't TECHNICALLY incorrect.

Iron Bowl is 10x the rivalry LSU/Bama is. Hell, the Egg Bowl is a greater rivalry then LSU/Bama. Like someone said, big game, not a great rivalry.

It’s only a great rivalry because Arkansas and A&M are equivalent programs, so the games are usually competitive.
