Yep. College and pro and not just football. Is what it is.
First time I paid to get in at Talladega infield tickets were $6 and kids under 12 got in free. Not anymore LOL.

Next thing you know corporations across this country will own college football.
Waiting for corporate sponsor patches to show up on individual jerseys - think that’s possible?

As i have said from the beginning, NIL is causing irreparable harm to college football.

Here’s my thing, growing up and going to the Grove to meet players and hear them speak had a big impact on me as a kid. The players loved the school and wanted to be there, they played with pride for both the school and their teammates. Now every year for the last decade those kids have been replaced more and more with hired guns who could give two shits about the schools we all grew up loving. It’s why I could never get into the NFL. Up until the NIL/portal era, I could at least half arse convince myself they had some loyalty, but now that illusion is gone.
I still watch the games, but don’t follow recruitment and individual players like I once did. Today cfb is more about connecting and spending quality time with my Dad in his later years than caring about the actual game.
Sure, it might have put us in a better position to make Atlanta or even win it all. Winning with Cali transfers who previously couldn’t pick Mississippi out on a map and will leave at the drop of a hat if a better offer comes along just isn’t the same. I’d rather go back in time when an 8 win season with kids at least semi-loyal to the school was a great year than winning hardware with paid assassins. Money and greed has taken away what made college football the greatest sport on earth. At least we have high school ball…for now.

What’s stopping these schools from making these “student athletes” sign contracts to stay with the school if they are making money through the institution from NIL, and penalize them if they transfer?

I really don't know how any of you can complain about football this year. The games are better, they're more exciting, they're closer than ever, no longer can the blue bloods hoard all of the best players on their bench. Bench. This only makes football better, the only people that don't like this are the blue bloods that are pissed. They can't hoard everything, and people who don't like seeing under dogs win.
In fact, it's actually an amazing feat that coaches and staffs can get all of these players to gel that much quicker. Ole Miss and LSU both have some of the highest transfer portal players, and at least in Ole Miss's case they have gell ed spectacularly.
There is literally nothing wrong with the transfer portal, it just works.

Yup, free enterprise, the American Way.

There was never loyalty. It's about winning. If you want Mississippi made, call up Matt Luke!

I disagree and still believe the teams that evaluate/develop the top HS guys will have sustainable success.
Then some other team will offer more money for those top HS guys.

If you’re an actual ole miss fan, this is the only way your school will be relevant. I’m missing the reason why you’re against it. Sorry arse ole miss won’t do shite without transfers and nil
Says the guy whose teams most recent success in football, baseball, women’s basketball etc. is directly related to transfers but keep being a fricking moron it suits you.
