I know it's looking possible at the moment but I refuse to believe that the winner of that game goes to Atlanta.

Point of clarification please in your OP

Are you saying it will come down to both possibly heading to ATL and the Egg Bowl sends the winner

OR

Are you saying neither will go?

I ask because suppose State is undefeated going into the Egg Bowl and Ole Miss has 2 losses. Clearly if State won, they already had the better resume to get to ATL so winning just assured it.

Disclaimer : If you are an Ole Miss fan just flip the names if it causes focus on who I picked to have the better record in the example (used a coin flip and State got won the flip)

The only problem this scenario has is that MSU and Ole Miss are fighting in the same state for recruits. The talent is certainly there... it remains to be seen if it is there for both teams in the same year.

Not to mention some years Southern Miss, who stinks on ice right now, will be good enough to steal some recruits away.

It can happen, both schools have some heft in their britches right now. We shall see if it will happen.

This is accurate because Ole Miss will have already wrapped up the West by Thanksgiving weekend.

I concur.

A&M will already have accepted their bid to the Texas Bowl by this point.

We generally recruit well enough out of state to offset any in state losses to MSU.

This is how the SEC is and why A&M doesn't get it. The conference goes 8-10 teams deep and with the Mississippi schools stepping up, it is a bloodbath.

In other words, it is nothing like the Big12.

Of course, LSU is not doing their part this year. We are horrible. But, I AM enjoying watching the rest of the conference and I know good football when I see it. Auburn, State, and Ole Miss are good football right now.

What if this curve ball you speak of is the Egg Bowl deciding the division?

So you're saying Ole Miss is gonna clinch in Fayetteville ?

I am willing to buy this more than both schools being 1 and 2 in the final week.

You might be right, but both of us will curb stomp A&M. Already half way there.

With the best player in college football, A&M never finished better than 3rd.... In the SEC West.

You may see The Egg Bowl decide the division before A&M wins it.

I feel like Missouri brings a lot more to the table than A&M.
