My only problem is that you seem to exclude folks who didn't actually post a congratulatory post. I believe the word "accomplishment" fits better than "victory or moment".

Why do LSU fans need so much validation from other fanbases?

Agree with your premise, but downvoted anyway because 95% of LSU fans on this board are the latter and do the exact thing you were talking about. I don't think I've seen a single thread all year applauding the achievement of a non-LSU team/player without some LSU fan feeling the need to jump in and shite on it saying that they were better.
And yes, Joe Burrow and LSU had a hell of a season.
