Group of 5 should step up and start its own 16 team tournament, which will essentially kill off the small bowl games - while also giving G5 teams something interesting to play for since they will never make the playoff as currently constructed.
Watching the top small conference teams playing each other would be fun as hell. Put the games on campus during month of December (similar to FCS playoffs). Would also give these teams the spotlight and aim sure ESPN would be game to pick up this content

Oh look, a disgruntled Georgia fan.
You can’t discount the PAC12 or the ACC. Oregon should’ve beat Auburn. USC is a sleeping elite program. The ACC is down but FSU and V.A. Tech can be relevant again.
The bowl tie-ins are there to protect the P5 but they suck. Let the bowls decide who they want and screw contrived equity.

This is a quality assessment

They should have just kept the BCS system and let the top 4 play each other. I'd trust computers over a group of imperfect humans in a conference room.

TCU has not really been all that great since joining the Big 12.
Remember before how they consistently were in the BCS picture? Amazing what happens when you face tougher opponents more than once or twice a year isn't it?

Agree the conference tie ins are stupid....IMO the Orange would be much better if they'd put say Penn State against Florida and sent Virginia to the Cotton against Memphis. No way should Virginia be in a NY6 bowl to start with.

TCU was awesome back in 2014 (and 15). Should have been in the playoff in 14

Wrap your head around the fact that Saturday WAS your playoff game. Kinda like Wildcard Weekend in the NFL. And you've had that chance the last 3 years.

I always read these threads to be: how do we get more SEC teams into the CFP?
Face it: the SEC is the only conference to have a team each year. They are the only conference to get more than 1 team into the CFP in a year.
They are by far the best conference BUT
replaying LSU waxing UGA 3 weeks later serves no purpose. You lost the CFP quarterfinal. Now get ready for the Sugar Bowl and look forward to next year.

All season long the so called "experts" told us how great Utah is and how we peasants just don't know how good they are. Utah is not a good team. They have zero wins against Top 25 teams
Isn't that the same as Bama?

An #11 ranked 11-2 Utah team playing a unranked 7-5 Texas team in th Alamo Bowl is all the evidence you need to know that these bowl match ups are bullshite once you get past the granddaddy bowls.

I hate thuga just as much as the next guy, but this is some pretty typical clempson derp. Thuga would mop the floor with clempson’s schedule.
Bitch, at least 5 SEC teams would be undefeated with clempson’s schedule. Another 3 would be 10-1.
This is part of the reason why Kelly Bryant excelled at clempson and is getting waxed on the weak side of the SEC.
Prep your a-hole, even the frickeyes are going in dry on your soft asses.

South Carolina is on both schedules and UGA lost when the two teams played. If they had Clemson's schedule they would have still lost that game....Clemson didn't.

Kirby Smart gave the game to Will Muschamp! He did it to save Muschamp his job! No way Kirby lose it if Will Muschamp was the head coach. Muschamp was a former player at UGA. They are good friends. That is what happened. I am seeing the only reason why Georgia lost to South Carolina!
