Good one. The list of guys who have blocked two kicks in a game be it two punts or two place kicking attempts or a combination of both, has to be minuscule

Vanderbilt ran through Tennessee’s precious tee formation in 1979. The band tried to close ranks but not fast enough. A trombone player is no match for an offensive lineman and bodies flew.

Yeah, the Troy beating LSU game was pretty surreal
It was as bad as the appalachian st michigan game, actualy worse cuz LSU had better recruits when they lost
inside Tiger Stadium
I still cant beleive it.

I went to the the 2003 Ole Miss - LSU game in Oxford (Eli tripped game). A good friend of mine growing up from New Orleans went to Ole Miss. After the game and in The Grove, one of his Sigma Nu fraternity brothers from Madison pushed down (pretty hard I might add) two random female LSU women and threw his solo cup filled with whatever liquids at them. Just out of the blue. No one was yelling “Geaux Tigers” or anything, just because they were nearby. People very quickly interjected, but that was that. No apology or nothing to the LSU women.

Freshman Matthew Stafford lit up Auburn in the rain and I was wearing a garbage bag with a hole torn out of it for my head. Rough times.

I was in the stadium for that, I was a student at State at the time. Ugh. That kicker had a crazy strong leg, too.
Weirdly, I once met a girl in a bar in Cleveland who had dated both my OM older brother and that State kicker.

I remember leaving the Ole Miss -State game in Jackson and running into a bunch of state fans in the parking lot. This was 80s so of course everyone was different stages of drunk. One of their guys starting chirping at one of our guys and despite most of the guys on both sides trying to avoid trouble it quickly escalated and the next thing I know there are 30 to 40 or more of us about to be in a huge fight. Several of the state guys were holding lethal weapons as if they were about to clock someone with them. (Aka massive cow bells on a stick) So I quickly said we will fight you but you guys have to put down those damn cowbells. ( I knew they weren’t going to do that but I was pointing out to my buddies to be careful as one of those on the side of the head and you were going to the ER, and what a bad idea this all was. Plus Jackson municipal jail isn’t really a friendly place for frat rats or college kids. Finally, this was a guaranteed trip to the deans office as both schools stressed anything at the stadium would be treated as an on campus event. Then one of the state guys that probably realized this was stupid too responded ‘“Well we will put down our cowbells only if you put down those flag spears” . Back then you could bring in flags with flagpoles and they did have a pointed gold tip on them typically. So he did have a point and he knew the guys with the spear flags were not going to put them on the ground either. So basically after a Mexican stand off for a few minutes the stupidity of this whole thing sunk in and each went a different direction. I remember the state guy who brought up the flags giving me a look at the end like “good move” we got out of that shite. Back then you had to respond when challenged like that or you were a bad word. The cow bell-flag issue allowed everyone to save face, even the super drunk guys that started it. So Mistake guys we can work together for the common good. Of course, a few years later Flag poles were banned when they alleged some idiot speared someone. (I think it was all Part of plan to get rid of the Rebel flag) But cow bells are still legal in starkvegas but i understand that’s only if they are never used as a weapon against opposing fans. So you are welcome Mistake fans, me and the unknown state fan saved your stupid cowbells from getting banned.
Thanks for that. :D
Yep. There were always fights after Jackson Egg Bowls. I saw Reb fans take cowbells from little State kids and State fans take Confederate flags from little OM kids. Both sides got extra drunk and crazy in Jackson. That got better after moving to the campuses, probably because the visitors were way outnumbered by home team fans.

At Jordan-Hare, I watched some frat boys go to the top of the lower bowl and throw out a long rope that they had smuggled in earlier that week. Someone down below tied it to a cooler, and they started pulling it up. Pretty much the whole stadium realized what was going on, including the cops who started running towards them. Other students closed ranks and slowed the cops down quite a lot. They got the cooler to the top of the stadium and hurriedly passed out ice-cold beers to anyone and everyone, emptying the cooler just before the cops got there. The cops did eventually lead them away, to a big ovation.
At a Halloween night game against UF, a guy selling cokes came through our section. We bought a couple, and he asked if we wanted anything to go with it. He then opened the hunting vest he was wearing, Instead of holding shotgun shells, it was lined with whiskey in those miniature bottles. We loaded up and told him to come back each quarter. You have to respect the entrepreneurial spirits.

2010 LSU Tennessee football game. It’s not really even close.
Was at this game and it’s one of my favorite stories to tell. The game was essentially over and we had left our seats and made our way to the exits.. When they announced they’d replay the down, all of security was seemingly scrambled. Watched the final touchdown from the field. A memory I’ll never forget.

How did they do the tickets at the Jackson Egg Bowl games? We're they split 50/50 or was one team the home team each year.
When I was growing up it seemed like both teams played a lot of their games in Jackson.

I was in the stands for the multiple pick 6 games, the Barn Fire game, the Prayer at Jordan-Hare, the Kick 6, the 9 interceptions against Florida in 1966, and the 1989 Bama comes to Jordan- Hare games. I’ll be 78 next month so I guess I’ve had a pretty good run.

I was at the State-Ole Miss game in 1983. We were going crazy because we could see the football splitting the uprights at the opposite end of the field.
Then it was total shock when the ball just stopped in midair and fell to the ground.
Still can’t believe it 40+ years later.

Tickets were split 50-50 for the State/Ole Miss game and teams alternated home-home. Game was played in Jackson 1973-1990. When Coach Sherrill became Coach at State he moved all home games to campus. Which was a great move as by that time, the stadium at State was much nicer than Jackson, there were four lane highways to Starkvegas, more hotels had been built, more restaurants and campus was better suited to host games.
And yes they did play most SEC games in Jackson during those years as well.
Similar to Bama playing a lot of games in BHM, Arkansas playing games in LIT. In those days it made economic sense.
But thankfully today all home games are played on campus.

I remember asking my dad… “do we have to leave?” He said we will leave when the people on the ramp leave. Looked scary but apparently after the documentary was never in danger.
