SEC hasnt beat a big Ten team in the playoffs in 3 years...
Pretty sad that you have to ride that B1G dick to make any points here - especially since ND acts like they're too good to join any conference (including the Big10).

Golden Homers need to join a conference or schedule more top teams (and actually BEAT them) if they want to be taken seriously.

Until then

No, the committee did not where Notre Dame is concerned. Miami deserved to go ahead by virtue of beating ND, who also lost to ATM. Those were the biggest games for ND and they lost both. They only beat a ranked Louisville team afterwards, so no big wins over higher ranked opponents.
Funny thing is that A&M and Miami losing late in the year really did ND in. If. A&M beats Texas, Bama isn’t in the SECCG and doesn’t get protected by the committee. If Miami beats either Louisville or SMU, they go to the ACC championship game, likely beat UVA, and JMU is out.

Notre Dame screwed Notre Dame when they chose not to join a conference.

Here is an idea - there were only 10 deserving teams.

OU is the one I had the biggest problem with. Especially as an 8 seed. They were maybe a top 15 team on a good day.

I don’t think ND or Texas got “screwed”, but OU making the playoffs was a perfect argument for why we don’t need 12 teams making it.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m not digging the expanded playoffs as much I thought I would. For the exact reason some of the purists told us for years. The regular season is becoming meaningless. Sixteen teams means 4-loss teams will be in occasionally.

I know we’re never going back, but I’m beginning to miss the BCS days. Or at the most, four teams.

This is true

Notre Dame was royally screwed.

I look at it this way though...we might actually have a team that has never won a Natty win it this year

Why the frick do so many fans believe that college football should be different that literally EVERY other sport AND league.

Even leagues and college subdivisions do it differently and have at minimum 12 teams in a playoff.

The college football model as it was was antiquated and just ridiculous. I cannot fathom why people ESPECIALLY with the new found obvious parity in college football thinks that the best team is in the top 4 year in and year out. It’s confounding.
