Freshman Nick Wesloski finishes with 90 pitches, allowing just four hits and one run with four strikeouts. A great outing.
Only his 2nd ever start. In the game to make it to finals. I am amazed at all 3 freshman pitchers! Win or lose without them we never get this far. Can Johnson was supposed to be our ace day1 starter and he has control issues was benched long ago. For these freshmen to step up on the biggest stage is a true miracle and Skip deserves all the credit in the world.

Baseball is a funny game..
A game of inches..
A game of matchups..
A game of gorilla ball vs small ball and all of the strategy no one sees on every single pitch..
A game where it really pays to get hot at the right time..
A game where all bets are off once you get to Omaha..
And all of that is why I love it so much..
