Baton Rouge and NOLA are two places you definitely don't want to get lost in

This coming from a guy who thought Orlando was a cool city. From your views in this thread it's clear that you obviously need to get out more. If you aren't hanging out in North BR then you would have no problem in BR. I have lived in several cities across the south and have felt safer in BR then any of the others.

Still way better than Montgomery.

You have a much higher risk of getting killed in BR than Montgomery. But both places suck.

No, Baton Rouge is a lot better than Montgomery. That city has nothing going for it, at all. Even their bass pro shop is just okay.

Believe me BR isn't the best but it's a hell of a lot better than Montgomery.

Because Baton Rouge sucks and the only people who like it are LSU fans.

This might take awhile

If BR gets a bowl they should have it at Southern so we can load up on the popcorn and watch the fireworks.

It would be the most suitable location for the game. It being in tiger stadium would be too much of a privilege for any other teams.

Savannah (or Charleston) needs a bowl game much more than any other city IMO

ETA: The Crampton Bowl looks great though

Facilities....

In the bigger picture though, there's already about 15 bowls too many anyhow.

The stadium is not Crapton Bowl, but Alabama State's brand new stadium.

Montgomery like most cities in Alabama stink, but Montgomery has really improved the last few years. The downtown area has an entertainment district that is doing very well.

This could be a good thing, depending on how much time you have to spend in those cities. I was in Montgomery for 4 days a few years ago and after day number 2, getting shot didn't sound all that bad.

Also, FWIW, I love the LSU area of Baton Rouge, especially College Town and Garden District neighborhoods around the lakes. Outside of that, however, I'm never upset to get back to New Orleans and/or the Northshore.

Still, I would MUCH rather spend a few days in Baton Rouge than Jackson or Montgomery.

Orlando deserves a spot IMO. Been there all week and was really impressed with the city

Probably because you're from Mississippi (I assume). You'd probably be impressed with Mogadishu if you visited considering Orlando isn't much better.

I got lost in ghetto Orlando one night, and I didnt feel safe. I don't know if it was all that bad, or if it just seemed bad because I was used to Baton Rouge, one thing I do know is that I didn't get shot.

Wasn't Montgomery while they used to play the Blue / Gray game?

Once again, I forgot about the Capital one bowl. Once again, I was basing that off the night life in Orlando. Orlando is better than all of those cities listed but that definitely isn't saying much.

notice I didn't say all of Baton Rouge was that way. I've been to Baton Rouge so I know there are good parts of it, just like there are good parts of mostly anywhere you go.

I witnessed a drive by shooting while walking to the Citrus Bowl.
